Big thanks to Ben from Tweed Foundation who joined us for a River Biodiversity session yesterday with Edenside Primary. Ben delivered amazing activities about fish and freshwater invertebrates. We also used binoculars to get a closer look at the birdlife of the Cobby🐟🦆
Last week, learners from Edenside Primary had their first session exploring the biodiversity of the Cobby, their local River Tweed spot. We surveyed riverbank plants, identified trees using leaves, and learned about the impact of invasive non-native plants #destinationtweeduk

Another lovely session with pupils from Holy Trinity First School this week. This time we explored amazing trees in the school grounds. We acted out the parts of a tree, used leaves to work out their names and made our own leaf bashing pictures.

Class 4 had a great time at the beach examining the habitat of rock pools and litter picking to improve the environment. Thank you to Tweed Forum for their support. 😀🦀🚯#inquisitivethinkers#challengeseekers#kindhearts
@HtfsBerwick Thank you for having TweedWATCH along to explore coastal wildlife with you! The enthusiasm and passion the children had for their local beach and its inhabitants was inspiring 🏖️🐚
Fantastic morning with pupils from Holy Trinity First School today! We explored the rockpools at Haven Beach to learn more about our coastal wildlife, then picked any litter we could find that might cause them and their habitat harm.

St Boswell's P6/7 pupils had a mindful moment next to the River Tweed on Thursday, taking in the sounds of the water and watching the oystercatchers fly by. A lovely way to reflect on their time visiting us at Old Melrose.

#childrensmentalhealthweek gives an important focus to the benefits of outdoor learning to children’s emotional and mental wellbeing.
Exploring nature (especially amongst trees) can help improve mood and self-esteem, reduce stress and encourage independence and resilience. ❤️🌳
For #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek we’re highlighting the amazing power nature can have, boosting young people’s mental health with our education programme, @TForumlearning. Getting outside and accessing your local green and blue spaces is a great start to boosting wellbeing 🌊
