BREAKING: Tulsi Gabbard has resigned as Donald Trump’s Director of National Intelligence, according to Fox News.

In her resignation letter, Gabbard said her husband Abraham was recently diagnosed with “an extremely rare form of bone cancer” and that she is stepping away from public service to support him through the battle. Her resignation takes effect June 30.

The resignation comes just months after Gabbard’s deputy, Joe Kent, resigned in protest of Trump’s Iran War, saying Iran posed “no imminent threat” to the U.S. Before joining the Trump administration, Gabbard herself was outspoken against war with Iran and frequently warned against another Middle East conflict.
