At this point, every ASEAN nation should just unite and tell FIFA: $1 million for the rights or we all boycott. Take it or leave it. 😂
Considering the overpriced broadcast rights and all the mess around the tournament right now, I’m starting to think it might actually be better to spend that $2.6 million on arranging four friendly matches ourselves instead.
With that kind of money, we could bring in some really good teams. And judging from the news, India only got fined a few hundred thousand dollars anyway. Honestly, that sounds like a pretty good deal. 🤔
@ThaiFootballs If the AFF offered $1 million for the ASEAN Championship, then I think $2 million would be the proper price for the ASEAN Cup, considering every participant will be all out with their best squad at this tournament.
But i’m not saying $2 million is cheap though
Instead of wasting your money on those overpriced scam tickets, just book a flight to Thailand for the second leg match.
For the same money, you can fly here, watch the match at Rajamangala, and still have some fun at Soi Cowboy. 😂
With tickets for the first leg of the #ASEANHyundaiCup semi-final sold out, we’ve seen resale listings circulating online. We do not condone ticket scalping and strongly urge fans not to purchase tickets from unauthorised resellers.
🚨📺 FIFA ASEAN CUP BROADCAST RIGHTS PRICE REDUCED
According to Thai Reporter Jay Worrapath, FIFA has reportedly lowered the asking price for the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup broadcast rights in Thailand from $3 million (฿98m) to $2.6 million (฿86m).
Despite the $400,000 price reduction, no Thai broadcaster has agreed to buy the rights yet…
🚨📺 FIFA REPORTEDLY ASKING $3 MILLION FOR FIFA ASEAN CUP BROADCAST RIGHTS — NO THAI BROADCASTER YET
According to Ball Thai Stand, FIFA has reportedly priced the Thai broadcast rights for the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup at around $3 million (฿99 million).
The package covers all 20 matches across the competition — 13 matches from Division 1 and seven from Division 2.
However, the reported price has so far attracted no buyer in Thailand, with no Thai broadcaster currently prepared to pay the asking price.
The FIFA ASEAN Cup will take place from 24 September to 3 October 2026, with Thailand drawn in Division 1 Group B alongside Vietnam, the Philippines and Pakistan.
@nugraha_aris@AKDPD@ThaiFootballs For India's case, to withdraw the event after the draw for a PR game is unacceptable. By doing this, you are showing you're not a professional Football Association.
“We are unable to participate in the FIFA ASEAN Cup due to our commitment with the Brazil federation. There are technical issues too. We have informed FIFA & officials are aware why we were forced to take this decision.”

🚨🇹🇭🇯🇵 OFFICIAL: Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo have announced the signing of Itthimon Tippanate on a 1-year loan contract from BG Pathum United.
The highly-rated Thai youngster makes the move to Japan to continue his development with the J.League side after previously impressing during a trial with the club.
Mid-table Premier League clubs with no real success → Belgium’s golden generation → Ronaldo’s last dance with Portugal → Netherlands?
This guy must be insanely good at job interviews. 😂 But I mean… surely the Netherlands can’t do any worse than this, right?
Any tournament that isn’t played during the FIFA international calendar is unofficial to me, no matter how prestigious it may be.
So I really hope the AFF wakes up and changes this. I want to see every country bring their best team so we can truly see who’s the best.
Gavin and his team have done a great job so far, but we also haven’t been able to reach our usual standards and level. That’s why I think the semi final will be interesting.
But that’s totally understandable though, because this is basically our C squad. So I won’t blame Hudson and the players.
All I expect from Hudson in this tournament is to give the young players as many chances as possible and be a bit braver. I think he cares too much about the results.
For me, development is more important than results in this tournament. We should use this tournament as an opportunity to maximize our talent pool.
I really don’t know. I’m usually so confident whenever we play Singapore. I always feel like we’ll beat them even if we don’t play well. In 2022, we even outclassed them with all 11 regular starters rested.
But this time feels different. I actually think Singapore are on par or even a bit better team right now. I could be wrong, though.
Seeing all these impressive stats when our team is nowhere near that good and isn’t really any better than in previous ASEAN Cups feels a bit strange.
It really makes you question the level of competition this time.…
