@Markmanson Never thought of it that way, but it sure does... it's funny how we can convince ourselves. It often starts with an inner struggle between heart and mind. Very often when the heart wins that struggle, it will "discipline" the mind into line.

Whilst I agree mostly, this is in my view a simplified summary and I think "living happily" itself isn't the skill... it's a result.

The skill, in my view, has more to do with the ability to adapt to circumstances through the realignment of cognitive thinking about the uncertainty one faces as well as one's emotional regulation thereto.

@EasyEquities Not entirely related but would love a proper explanation of something I noted online twice today. Perhaps I'm daft but I don't understand it... Investing in Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) within a Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA)... The "WITHIN a TFSA" is what I don't understand.
