@squirtle301@TatooineSons I've seen that video, I've also discussed the duel at the local Fencing club... Guess what the collective thought is on it... It's not that it's a good representation of a good or skilled duel.
@squirtle301@TatooineSons There's no maneuvering here, it's repetition to look cool to 10yos and those that can't let go of their feelings at 10yrs old. Just like you can watch them count steps in the long and stupid trot with back and forth overhead "slashes" and pointless spins (clip stops short, sry)
@JNatt1311 I get it... It's like preferring a small venue of 1k or less for the rock show over an arena or stadium show. It's more intimate... But sports are different. Bigger really does seem better for things like soccer, gridiron football, and baseball even. Not so much for hockey or BB.
I've now lived in VA for just over 10yrs. It's the longest time I've ever lived in one place consecutively (Army brat to Soldier). I've voted here, bought a home here, I have people & places here to recommend to newcomers... I can pronounce Norfolk right. Am I a Virginian now?
@DawgsandGolf@EricBoehm87 That's why you keep the bigger goal, shrink field by maybe 25% and maybe keep 8 players... All I know is, despite growth in popularity, most of us Americans don't like the slowness and low scores. That's why the NHL was changed so much through the 90s and early 00s.
@james_x_lfc@EricBoehm87 Baseball is great live, all sports are... Even soccer. I'm not big on basketball. Hockey is my jam. I like watching football, but too many damn breaks and commercials. Football matches shouldn't take 4.5hrs to broadcast!
@DawgsandGolf@EricBoehm87 Yet, there's hockey, with 5 players, on 200x85ft of playing area, making multiple goals per game (often enough to say usually these days), against tiny goals covered by humans in giant pads, with non-stop action filled play (including SOGs) for long stretches of time. ๐คท
@MDyey21@DawgsandGolf@EricBoehm87 One is more exciting than the other and rarely (at least NHL hockey in the modern era) ends in 0-0 ties. Seriously, if every soccer game had to have a winner and went to a shootout if tied at EoR, I'd be less annoyed and less bear-pokey. ๐
@DawgsandGolf@EricBoehm87 Oh no... We could make the game more exciting and not have to pay as many players or maintain the facilities and staff for larger teams. How terrible... and economic. And I'll have you know I played plenty of soccer. In grade and middle school, and the Army! "Ultimate soccer" ๐
@DawgsandGolf@EricBoehm87 I think you're confusing "action" with goals. I'm looking for anything more than pass, pass, punt, pass, pass, punt, pass, pass, punt, pass, take a dive, pass, pass, shoot and miss, punt, pass, pass, take a dive, pass, pass, punt, committee meeting, pass, punt, 0-0 final score.
@Muzines@EricBoehm87 I'm American, I stay. I'm gonna watch the much more exciting and time honored US sport of Hockey instead... Not a lot left in the Stanley Cup series though.
Inb4 "hockey is Canadian!" They haven't won a Stanley Cup in over 30 years, it's ours now!!! ๐คฃ
@EricBoehm87 Yes, I'm "poking the bear". No, I'm not just upset people don't like American stadiums, a lot of them do suck for one reason or another. Yes, I really find soccer boring and think that stuff would help make it a little more bearable.
@EricBoehm87 I agree there were better alternatives. Take it elsewhere. Soccer is boring. 0-0 ties are ridiculous. Stop the clock instead of having a committee meeting to decide on extra time. Shrink the field so that there's actually some action instead of 3 hours of "punting". That'll help.
@mgmtarham It is one of the things about our car culture and city planning that I do hate. More vertical parking and more parking under solar panels is needed.
@TatooineSons Luke lost, failed, and faltered in Empire and Jedi.... Before overcoming his fear and doubt to defeat the emperor and help redeem his father. Did you even watch the OT?
