18 tahun. Itu tuntutan jaksa buat seseorang yang udah ngabisin waktu bertahun-tahun mencoba memajukan negara ini. Terlepas dari kamu setuju atau gak sama pandangan politiknya, coba deh renungin baik-baik angka itu.

Ini bukan kejadian yang pertama kali. Indonesia itu punya pola yang diam-diam menghancurkan: orang-orang pinter, kompeten, dan punya niat tulus masuk ke pemerintahan, tapi ujung-ujungnya malah dihancurin sama sistem. Gak selalu karena mereka bersalah, tapi seringnya cuma karena kehadiran mereka "dianggap mengganggu".

Tapi anehnya, kita terus-terusan nyuruh anak-anak muda terbaik kita: "Masuk dong ke pemerintahan. Mengabdi dong buat negara. Bawa perubahan."

Siapa juga yang mau kalau mereka ngelihat langsung kejadian kayak gini di depan mata?

Siapa pun dalang di balik semua ini, mereka sama sekali gak lagi ngelindungin Indonesia. Mereka justru lagi ngajarin satu generasi orang-orang berbakat kalau jalan paling aman itu ya mending diam aja. Atau sekalian pergi ke luar negeri.

Buat yang suka nyinyir, "Ya udah, pergi aja sana!", tolong berhenti nutupin ego kalian dari kenyataan. Banyak kok orang Indonesia yang super cerdas dan bener-bener cinta sama negara ini. Mereka tetap stay di sini. Mereka ngebangun sesuatu. Mereka nyari cara lain buat berkontribusi di luar pemerintahan, karena masuk ke dalam sistemnya itu terlalu bahaya.

Tapi ini realita yang lebih pahit: sehebat apa pun startup, kreator, atau inovator kita di kancah dunia, KALAU pemerintahnya tetap korup dan gila kuasa, KALAU aturannya gak ngelindungin rakyat atau gak ngasih ruang buat industri berkembang dengan sehat, terus kita sebagai masyarakat bisa berharap apa?

Ini momen yang sedih banget buat Indonesia. Bukan cuma karena ada satu orang yang lagi diadili, tapi karena pesan yang ditangkap sama semua orang pintar dan idealis yang lagi ngelihatin kasus ini: bahwa negara ini sepertinya belum siap buat ngelindungin orang-orang yang berani membawa perubahan.
