Today is International Auslan (Australian Sign Language) Day.
I am lucky enough to have had a version of Auslan in my life from very early on thanks to my Deaf mother. I feel very priviledge to have been able to learn more about this complex language this year. #HappyAuslanDay
Fully intended to never use this account again, but playing Stray Gods for the first time and this has to be said
@LauraBaileyVO you have the voice of a damn angel. I'm so glad you started singing again.
To me Inside Out did a very similar thing but better. It showed that depression isn't a lack of happy, it is a lack of every emotion. It isn't sad, it's numb.
I'm really glad that the next generation is being taught about mental health without a purity agenda also being pushed.
say what you will about stephenie meyerโs writing, but Iโve never seen a portrayal of depression as accurate as those blank pages with nothing but the names of the months on them
Chatting about Vampire the Masquerade clans this morning when partner said, "I don't want to play a Tzimisce, they sound too much like a type of pizza."
I need to hear @vampiresnvino's and @AlexWard777's opinions on this. #vamily#VtM
Chronically ill writers, nureodiverse writers, disabled writers, traumatised writers, busy writers and lonely writers: read this before Nanowrimo and know that if you can't finish a 50000 word novel in a month, you're still valid and awesome.
With Nanowrimo about to kick off, and people getting excited/stressed/worked up about it, I want to take a moment to remind you of one thing:
You do not have to.
@seananmcguire I cannot begin to tell you how badly I needed to read this. I've 'failed' Nano all 3 times I've tried it. All 3 times it had me convinced to give up on writing novels. It's not something that was particularly well suited to me or my lifestyle, but so many people swear by it...
Had a lovely uber driver today I chatted to about growing up in Canberra. He ended the ride by saying I was a credit to my parents. As someone who loves and misses her parents dearly, it absolutely made my day.
Thank you Ahmad, I will hold onto that compliment for a long time.
@nvpkp Genuinely, this was me but in retail. Second retail job required me to greet every customer. At the time I could barely order my own food, eighteen months of selling DVDs later and I can happily chat to a stranger for half an hour. Just don't make me do it at a party XD
@ContraPoints As a chronically ill person, this annoys me. Not the original tweet, but the bitter response. Twitter is frequently an app that I doom scroll when I wake up in pain. Seeing people experience small bits of every day joy is such a relief. It's nice to know there's some hope still.
@BDaveWalters I haven't watched Doctor Who since the early days of Jodi Whittaker, but will definitely be back to watch Ncuti Gatwa. He's absolutely fantastic on #sexeducation . He's the type of actor that handles comedy and drama brilliantly, can't wait to see the type of Doctor he'll be!
@flaminhaystacks You gave your daughter and her friend the ability to get home safe. That should always be the number one priority. Even as a 30 y/o I'm still so grateful to have a mumma who did the same. (2/2)
@flaminhaystacks I just want to say that, to me at least, this is brilliant parenting too. The reality is that many kids drink under age, and many go on to put themselves in dangerous situations because they fear what will happen if they come home drunk. (1/2)
@MrGMYT Sucks this is happen again.
I wish people wouldn't turn to absolute pricks over beta key give aways but it seems bound to happen. Still sorry it is though. Take care Dan!
