This year, the Africa Food System Forum mobilised more than 6,500 people from 86 countries under the leadership of H.E.President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and the Government of Senegal.

At the centre of it all were Africa’s youth, not on the sidelines, but as co-creators, turning bold ideas into real enterprises for climate resilience and food security.

Through $18 billion in committed investments and transformative partnerships, we moved innovation, energy, and enterprise from potential to impact for farmers, women, and youth across the continent.

Today, our chair, H.E. @HMDessalegn , paid a courtesy visit to Rwanda’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Usta Kaitesi, to align on preparations for the Annual Summit taking place in Kigali from 1–5 September.

The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration to deliver a world‑class forum, mobilizing global leaders to advance agri‑food investments, and coordinating efforts to promote sustainable food security and resilience.

Our partners Climateshot Investor Coalition are working with @FINCA International to support impact SMEs in sub-Saharan Africa!

Agri-SMEs that are ready to scale, seeking commercial capital, and integrating climate-and nature-positive practices in their operations are encouraged to apply under the Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems category.

The selected SMEs will receive technical assistance from the Connector’s experts to communicate their impact to investors and to support the raising of commercial capital, and will have the opportunity to pitch at the CLIC deal room at AFSF 2026 in addition to the FINCA prize!
