I think it’s about 4x from the auction price now?

Obviously price isn’t everything, but the reasons I think over has legs are this:

1) fair launch; it’s a simple auction with a very small insider sale and a long mining based release process
2) sharp dev team; extremely responsive and takes criticism well
3) very active development

I’m still not fully convinced the tech is real, but there are signs that it might be. Needs more validation in the field, but if it is real, it’s a big deal.

I participated in the $octra auction. I’m excited to see their new software packages drop next week.

If the benchmarks they’ve been describing are real, I think we’re going to see a different approach to FHE from here.

Prediction:

Over the next 10-25 years, unencrypted blockchains will cease to be relevant in the global discussion.

We need to have SSL-style systems for blockchains to reach mass adoption.

The plumbing is all there. It’s just a lot of work to tie it all together.

Went to an AI x Privacy talk tonight. Interesting to see what people are doing in the space.

Learned about https://t.co/A7YOxkK3lh which looks like they’re actually doing the full TEE + SPDM pathway for CPU to GPU tunneling.

This was my main critique of other encrypted prompting systems.

Without encryption of the weights, it’s trivial to reverse engineer the prompts.

I think the whole TEE ecosystem has a ways to go in terms of maturity from the major vendors. It doesn’t feel like they’re getting serious mainline support at the orgs.

Very quickly you learn that XCode is only used for building apps and not for any of the actual production of code.

It's sort of strange because there is a claude integration in XCode but it is so unaware of how XCode works that going back and forth between claude code and XCode is dramatically faster than using the native integration.

I hope that Apple's new CEO brings some energy to the software side of Apple and not just hardware.

It’s incredible that the federal government has passed a law legalizing ibogaine.

I have a friend who was intravenously shooting cocaine who quit as a result of iboga. He was on a very dark path and is now a completely changed person.

This is a really magical time in Silicon Valley.

I went to an art show today and an engineer had quit his job to make induction countertop stoves that are battery powered eliminating the need for a 220V hookup. You can just trickle charge on a 110V all day and as long as you’re not doing 2 hours+ of cooking you’re fine (which with induction, because of the quick heating capabilities, you can cook a lot of stuff more precisely in less time).

This is a person who was working in a normal-ish tech job and is now just a maker of cool stuff that people want.

You can just do stuff right now in a way that you couldn’t before if you’re willing to work at it.

There’s a lot of people that software folks might’ve called dumb before that are shipping pretty fancy software these days.
