@andrewb57 @porterrichard Indeed, if there are any locally and the club has a second trailer. But one of the joys of all these lost Tideway regattas - especially for novice/junior crews - was that you did not need to take boats apart and take a trailer. You could row there and back!

How sad. Another Tideway regatta lost - after, among others, Putney Amateur, Vesta Dashes, Hammersmith Borough, Horseferry. How long before every regatta is at Dorney?

[Putney Town Regatta @PutneyTownReg]

Putney Town Regatta Closes.

On what would have been the traditional weekend that Putney Town Regatta would have been held - it is with great sadness we have to announce our closure, ending an event that was established in 1911.

@FXMC1957 He is wearing a helmet in the colours of London Rowing Club. Hill was a great oarsman. He stroked the LRC Grand 8 at Henley - a cool thing to do…His son, Damon wore the LRC colours on his helmet too

RACE CANCELLED.

Unfortunately, weather forecasts are unanimous in predicting gale-force gusts tomorrow afternoon, making conditions unsafe to marshal or to race. With little chance of conditions improving, the committee has made the difficult decision to cancel the event.
