Sixty-three years after Dr. King challenged America to live up to its promise, we are once again being called to defend that promise.
At a time when voting rights are under attack, districts are being redrawn to weaken our voices, economic uncertainty continues to burden working families, gun violence devastates our communities, immigrants and vulnerable families face growing uncertainty, and too many still wait for equal justice under the law, we cannot afford to stand on the sidelines.
This is not the time for silence. It is the time to organize. To mobilize. To march.
On Friday, August 28, we will gather at the Lincoln Memorial for the March on Washington to Defend the Vote. Together, we will stand to protect our democracy, defend our civil rights, and continue the work of those who marched before us.
Their struggle made this moment possible. Our commitment will help shape what comes next.
Join us. Organize with us. Partner with us. Stand with us.

60 days.
In just 60 days, we will gather in our nation’s capital because the work of democracy is never finished.
As America marks 250 years of independence, we must also ask ourselves: Who is fully experiencing the promise of that freedom? While some celebrate progress, too many communities continue to fight for equal access to the ballot, equal justice under the law, economic opportunity, and the full protection of their constitutional rights.
Recent decisions, ongoing attacks on voting rights, efforts to rewrite our history, and policies that continue to divide rather than unite remind us that freedom is not something we inherit. It is something every generation must defend.
Our ancestors marched to secure the rights we enjoy today. We march to protect them for tomorrow.
60 days. One movement. One voice. One mission.

On MSNBC’s The 11th Hour with Stephanie Ruhle, I discussed why successful movements put a human face on injustice and why those directly impacted must be empowered to lead the fight for change.
From the struggle for voting rights to today’s attacks on working families, history has shown that organizing around people, not personalities, is what moves this country forward. As America marks its 250th anniversary, we should be asking whether we are living up to the promise of democracy or allowing wealth and power to outweigh the voices of everyday Americans.

On MSNBC’s The 11th Hour with Stephanie Ruhle, I discussed why attempts to undermine confidence in our elections should be met with a stronger commitment to civic engagement, not cynicism.
As our nation marks its 250th anniversary, we cannot allow misinformation or conspiracy theories to discourage Americans from exercising one of our most fundamental rights. The answer to attacks on our democracy isn’t sitting on the sidelines. It is organizing, educating, and voting.

On MSNBC’s The 11th Hour with Stephanie Ruhle, I discussed Donald Trump’s continued claims of “rigged elections” and why those conspiracy theories persist despite their contradictions.
When political rhetoric is driven by personal grievance instead of facts, it weakens public trust in our democratic institutions. We must continue to reject misinformation and defend the integrity of our elections by remaining informed, engaged, and committed to the truth.

Honored to be a guest on the final show of 11th hour w/ Stephanie Ruhle on MSNOW a few weeks ago. Stephanie is truly one of the best and brightest people on tv.
Earlier this month at Hampton University’s Ministers’ Conference, it was meaningful to spend time with leaders, clergy, friends, supporters, and longtime associates who have been part of this work for decades.
Pictured with National Action Network Board Vice Chair Jennifer Jones Austin, daughter of the late Rev. Dr. William Augustus Jones Jr. Rev. Jones was a giant in ministry, faith, justice, and public service, and someone whose leadership and counsel I greatly respected over the years.
Also pictured are NAN Board Member Pastor Steffie Bartley, fellow ministers, supporters, and associates, some of whom I’ve known since my earliest visits to Hampton alongside my late mentor, Rev. Jesse Jackson decades ago.
Gatherings like these are a reminder that while generations may change, the commitment to faith, justice, and service remains strong.

The devil wants you to quit at halftime.
When the odds are against you.
When you’re behind.
When it looks like there’s no way back.
At halftime, the Knicks were down 29 points.
Some stopped watching.
Others said the game was over.
But don’t quit before the final buzzer.
God specializes in comeback stories, and there is still another half to play.

#ICYMI I went by the Hampton University Ministers Conference to tell them about the Man in the middle of Calvary.
Don’t fret. Don’t worry about who’s in political power, trust in God who has all power in His hands.
Elections may come and go, leaders may rise and fall, but God is still on the throne.
Earlier this month, I joined the National Baptist Convention Board of Directors’ Virtual Meeting for an important conversation about faith, leadership, service, and the work still before us.
As we prepare for the March on Washington on August 28, 2026, we are reminded that this moment calls for leaders who are not afraid to stand with conviction, speak with purpose, and serve with integrity. The church has always been more than a place of worship. It has been a place of organizing, uplifting, healing, and moving our people forward.
When we come together with faith and focus, we can strengthen our communities, advance justice, and continue the work that generations before us began.
Let us keep leading. Let us keep serving. Let us keep marching forward.
New York, NY (June 27, 2026) – “Rev. Al Sharpton, Founder and President of the National Action Network (NAN), today condemned a pair of United States Supreme Court rulings that cleared the way for the Trump administration to strip Temporary Protected Status (TPS) from as many as 350,000 Haitian and 6,000 Syrian immigrants, and to turn away asylum seekers before they even reach U.S. soil.
Rev. Al Sharpton, Founder & President of National Action Network and The Honorable, New York State Assemblymember, AD-37, and Democratic Nominee for New York’s 7th Congressional District will address the rulings during this week’s NAN Saturday Action Rally amplifying concerns surrounding asylum protections, immigrant rights, and the broader assault on civil rights.
WHEN
Saturday, June 27, 2026 | 9:30 AM EST
WHERE
National Action Network — Mother AME Zion Church
140 West 137th Street, Harlem, NY
Rally will stream on NAN’s website, YouTube Channel, Social Media platforms and on WBLS Radio in NY
PARTICIPANTS
Rev. Al Sharpton, Founder & President, National Action Network
The Honorable Darializa Avila Chevalier, Democratic Nominee, New York’s 13th Congressional District
The Saturday Action Rally will be live-streamed via the National Action Network’s livestream channel.
Background:
In a 6-3 decision, the Court held that the President has unreviewable authority to terminate TPS protections, placing hundreds of thousands of people who have lived, worked, raised families, and paid taxes in this country legally for years at immediate risk of detention and deportation. A federal court previously found evidence that the decision to end protections for Haitians was driven by “anti-Black and anti-Haitian animus,” pointing to this administration’s own words, including the President’s past description of Haiti as a “sh—hole country” and the dehumanizing lies spread about Haitian families in Springfield, Ohio…” - full press release via https://t.co/UR9Yyzoyh0.

Earlier today on MSNOW’s #DeadlineWhiteHouse, I joined Nicolle Wallace and Molly Jong Fast for a conversation about President Trump’s continued fixation on President Obama, the role insecurity plays in fueling division and bigotry, and why leadership rooted in substance always outlasts leadership driven by grievance.
Those who traffic in hate and prejudice are often revealing their own insecurities. True leadership doesn’t require constant validation or personal glorification. It requires integrity, service, and a commitment to the people.
We also discussed President Obama’s enduring legacy, why the American people continue to recognize steady leadership, and what it means to lead with dignity during consequential times.
Be sure to tune in to @PoliticsNation this weekend on MSNOW at 5pm ET
Earlier today on MSNOW’s Deadline: White House, I spoke with Nicolle Wallace and Molly Jong-Fast about President Donald Trump’s continued fixation on President Barack Obama.
President Obama has always remained focused on the work before him, whether serving in the White House or continuing that mission through the Obama Presidential Center and his ongoing public service. That discipline and grace stand in sharp contrast to the politics of grievance and personal attacks.

Earlier today on #MorningJoe, I spoke with Jonathan Lemire and Lisa Rubin about the Supreme Court’s decision allowing the Trump administration to move forward with ending Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for hundreds of thousands of immigrants, including many Haitian nationals.
The decision goes beyond immigration policy. By dismissing the racist rhetoric that has targeted Haitians and other communities of color, it normalizes discrimination rather than confronting it. We raised the glaring double standard of denying protections to those fleeing violence and instability in places like Haiti while extending refuge to white South Africans based on claims that have been widely disputed.
Earlier today on #MorningJoe on MSNOW, Jonathan Swan and Maggie Haberman discussed their new book, Regime Change, and what their reporting reveals about the inner workings of the Trump White House.
During our conversation, I asked about the administration’s approach to race, representation, and outreach to Black communities, and how the second Trump administration differs from the first. We also discussed the rollback of criminal justice reform efforts, the changing dynamics inside the White House, and what those shifts mean for the country.
