It was an honor to have @vietcuongmusic as our inaugural Sandbox composer-in-residence. His residency resulted in Now and Then, which echoes J.S. Bach, literally! "I wanted it to sound like a Baroque composer that had access to a delay pedal," he said https://t.co/BTPhqPF6Ik

Artistic Partner Tabea Zimmermann was surrounded by musical family members. The fourth of six children, she said, "I wanted to play with my older siblings. I started at the age of two-and-a-half saying, 'I want to play!'"

Traveling is endlessly inspiring. Who can relate? ✋ Felix Mendelssohn can – he fueled a composing career off it!

Inspired by his visit to the ruins of Holyrood Abbey, he set out to capture Scotland's colors and moods in his Scottish Symphony heard here https://t.co/kzHhliVW5W

Wow 🤩 Is it really any wonder why SPCO Artistic Partner Tabea Zimmermann is so frequently referred to as one of the world's greatest violists?

It’s easy to hear why in her impeccable solo on Hummel’s Potpourri in our new video concert — streaming free at https://t.co/kzHhliVW5W

“I think the reason we don’t have many women composers in classical or Romantic repertoire isn't because they have less talent but because they haven't been given the chances,” said Tabea Zimmermann.
