We couldn’t be in the legendary Prince’s hometown for the #AFLCIO26 Constitutional Convention and NOT celebrate or honor him.
America’s unions wish Minneapolis legend and our @The_AFM and @SAGAFTRA union brother Prince a happy birthday ✊

Thank you, Congresswoman Ross, for this commonsense approach to fixing a fundamentally broken system.
The Protect Working Musicians Act is an essential part of any meaningful attempt to regulate streaming and machine learning.
Multinational corporations must not be allowed to use antitrust law to seek refuge from the collective voice of independent artists. When working musicians have a seat at the table, everyone benefits.
~ Tino Gagliardi, International President, American Federation of Musicians
Today is about appreciating the care, sacrifices and support mothers provide their families every day.
We thank you and we’ll keep fighting for all working mothers so they have paid leave, equitable care and good union jobs.
Happy Mother’s Day from America’s unions! ❤️
The AFM issued the following statement regarding Kennedy Center management’s decision to terminate @IATSE members: “AFM and IATSE always stand together. We must never tolerate violations of our contracts. The members of Locals 868 and B-868 are an essential part of the Kennedy Center. These workers bring communities together. The AFM joins IATSE in calling for the Kennedy Center to restore these jobs immediately.”

News of the CBS Radio shutdown and mass layoffs is a devastating blow to colleagues in the media. These aren't just "positions" being eliminated-these are distinguished professionals who have served the public for years with bravery and grit.
The AFM sends support to the Writers Guild of America, East and Writers Guild of America West members at CBS News and everyone impacted by these cuts. We see your work, and we stand with you.

AFM International President Tino Gagliardi issued the following statement regarding the escalating violence and federal enforcement actions in Minneapolis:
We stand in solidarity with protestors exercising their First Amendment rights to demand justice and transparency. The outcry is not contained to the Twin Cities—throughout the entire country, Americans are peacefully and powerfully demanding an end to this chaos.
The AFM joins the broader labor movement and local leaders in demanding a comprehensive and transparent investigation into the killings of Renee Good, Alex Pretti, and all individuals who have died in ICE custody, to ensure full accountability.
AFM Stands in Solidarity with UAW Against Conn-Selmer Offshoring ✊
The AFM and President Tino Gagliardi are standing firm with the UAW following Conn-Selmer’s decision to close its Eastlake, Ohio, plant and move manufacturing to China.
This move is a betrayal of the union workers who built this brand’s reputation and the musical community that relies on American-made craftsmanship. We call on Conn-Selmer to keep these jobs in Eastlake! 🇺🇸🎷

AFM International President Tino Gagliardi on the Washington National Opera Board’s vote:
“Tonight, as the Washington National Opera (WNO) Board has voted to end its affiliation with the Kennedy Center, my focus is on supporting the Washington National Opera Orchestra.
I fully expect the WNO to honor its contract with these world-class musicians without disruption.
