There’s something deeply awkward about sitting in an auto shop waiting room while they loudly announce your trucks entire medical history to everyone. “She’s got arthritis, a little fluid leak, and her joints creak, but she’s still got plenty of life left.” Where’s HIPAA? 🛻🩺🩻
Pretty sure I’m touch starved because I just pulled a piping-hot fitted sheet straight out of the dryer, tucked my hands and feet into the corners, starfished on my bed for a full minute, and enjoyed it so much I almost shed a tear.
Take that, human affection.
Life got heavy on your shoulders
I don't blame you, mine did too
Your loving touch was gettin' colder
And it did what a broken heart would do
Off with the wind you went
Running, running 🎧
You left fast, but you burned slow
Time ticks at a standstill
I hold on to the let go, I don't know why
I've been lost in my own house
Is it sunrise or sundown
I'm lit up with the lights out, just how you left me 🎧
Well, I knew the day I met her
One day I'd have to forget her
But that didn't stop me from tryin' to hold her
Like the river holds the rain
She always wanted wide open spaces
And I tried my best to tame her
But I would have been better off breakin'
A herd of wild mustangs 🎧
“I hope I've demonstrated that you can face anything, you can face the end of your days, you can face hell with dignity. Fight, girls, and hold your heads high. Billie and Georgia, you are my heart, you are my everything. Goodnight. I love you.
Eric Dane leaves his daughters — and the world — with one final message in Famous Last Words.
I could find an empty church
Get down on my knees
Tell myself that mercy is a matter of degrees
Then lay down in some angel's arms
Convinced I've found the one I'm dreaming of
But it's always gonna be you
Always gonna be you
That I love 🎧
My therapist told me:
“When a person grows up feeling unseen, they learn to love by over-giving. They pour into everyone else, hoping that, one day, someone will finally pour back into them. So they become the care taker. The fixer. The one who shows up, even when no one shows up for them.”
And the hardest part? Deep down, they're not trying to be strong. They're just waiting for someone to do for them what they've spent their whole life doing for everyone else.
Well I'm shaking and grinding my jaw
Chasing a memory of you, but it's gone
I'll scratch and I'll claw
I guess I'm pretty damn good with goodbyes
But I hate the withdrawals 🎧
Doubt I'll ever put this on a record
It's more of a letter to you
I remember all them nights we spent together
I remember every single I love you
Hell you're better off without me
But I'll always have you
In my heart and in my memory
And I'll keep you there 'til my days are few🎧
