26 years ago, the country was outraged that the government would detain an innocent child. Today, it’s applauded.
Where is our moral compass? We’ve forgotten the values we once held for the sake of future generations.
What we choose today becomes the legacy we leave tomorrow
Five-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos’ detention by ICE in Minnesota captured the world’s attention earlier this year. In his first interview, Liam told @camiloreports his biggest fear is being detained by ICE again.
While Liam and his father were ordered released from ICE custody, his parents worry about the government’s continued efforts to deport the family to their native Ecuador, as well as the mental health of their son, who’s now seeing a psychologist.
The Trump administration recently terminated the family’s asylum case and is asking a federal court to allow ICE to re-detain them, saying that they’re in the U.S. illegally. https://t.co/aOctXZ7cXl
For Dignity
Every human is made in the image of God (Gen. 1:26-27). A Christian must thus treat every person with dignity, whatever you think of their beliefs or acts. To compare persons to animals, especially by hateful racist tropes, demeans his image. This is no joke.
Repent
Nope. A judge who was nominated and confirmed according to the constitutional process just issued a ruling interpreting the law, holding that the administration was lawless.
If you disagree with the ruling, you can appeal. That's how the law works.
The Return of the Nazis
In 1931, a “German Christian” pastor, Wilhelm Stapel, delivered “The Worldview of National Socialism and Christianity” in Berlin Spandau. He used “the race question,” “socialism,” and “nationalism,” to argue that Nazis and Christians had one worldview.
Encouraging news coming out of MN. Detaining lawfully present individuals is alarming. Thankful to see it come to an end to something that should have never occurred
BREAKING: A federal judge just granted a temporary restraining order stopping ICE from arresting refugees in Minnesota and ordering the release of those currently detained. This is a huge win for ICE accountability.

‼️Inbox — clarification from @StateDept on intercountry adoption visas.
This is good news for families adopting internationally, and even better news for children awaiting the safety, love and permanency of a family.
Many international adoptive families are people of faith and this is something the Christian community should be especially grateful for!
Thank you @POTUS and @SecRubio for supporting families and intercountry adoption.
Tillis unleashes on Noem and Miller -
“I think if Noem looks at her body of work… I can't think of any point of pride over the last yr”
“She has taken this admin into the ground on an issue that we should own”
“Miller never fails to live to my expectations of incompetence”
Maybe the opposite of de-escalation. Wishfully hoping this is unfortunate accident however @DHSgov continues to overlook its impact nationally and on the global stage. https://t.co/pM5gOImgzd
Last night I saw an exchange on here in which a pastor (whom I respect) asked for 3-5 examples of things the government is doing that is worse than protestors interrupting worship.
Wanted to take a moment to respond to that for a wider audience for a couple of reasons. (1/16)
The scariest part about a gov. agency murdering a US citizen (ICE traffic stop Policy: https://t.co/xYC1Hsu0jX) is that next week we'll move on to whatever our social media algorithm tells us to.
How did we drift from loving God & neighbor and what are we doing to return?
Christian - of you’re defense of being anti-immigrant because you believe there are not enough resources here you are saying God is unable to supply your every need
“In Christ, the barriers between God & humans, and between individuals and their neighbors, become blurred or even erased” - William Cavanugh
And who is my neighbor? In great words of St Augustine - “every man is to be thought of as a neighbor”
