Julius Caesar and the battle of Alesia
The Battle of Alesia in 52 BCE was one of Julius Caesar’s greatest military feats, marking the climax of his Gallic Wars. Facing the forces of Vercingetorix, Caesar’s army besieged the fortified hill town of Alesia. To trap the Gallic defenders inside, he constructed an inner rampart - a massive ring of fortifications nearly 11 miles long. Anticipating a relief army from outside, he then built a second outer rampart encircling the first, stretching about 14 miles, to defend against reinforcements. This double-wall system isolated Alesia completely, and after a fierce, prolonged struggle, starvation forced the Gauls to surrender, securing Roman dominance over Gaul.
@UKLabour Yeah this isn’t exactly difficult considering the amount of money squandered on illegal immigrants. Of course people that shouldn’t even be here and who entered illegally would get so much more than natives.
@Telegraph@AllisonPearson Wow priorities, priorities eh? At this rate I think the country would invite Russia in than have to deal with this incompetence much longer.
