As a teacher I only teach RP to actors who need it for a role. When non actors come to me wanting to get rid of their accents I offer them training in confidence and articulation. Speed and control of delivery. Pride and ownership of their own voice.

A comment about having heard a lot of dodgy Welsh accents from non Welsh actors is not the end of the world. It’s not about principle it’s about being convincing. And the money people not thinking Welsh actors can lead shows a lot of the time.
