Some days you can’t love social media enough. This is one of those days. It began like this. Someone stole 12 tons of KitKats.
And then the replies started coming in. Scroll down.
I lost a friend months ago he collapsed and passed away & I’ve only just found out.
I texted him checking in & when he didn’t reply which was odd I went to look him up on Facebook he’s active there ( I’m not) and that’s when I saw the RIP messages. 💔

My friend’s aunt is hosting me, and she’s been spoiling me completely even though we just met. She told my friend I’m “a big brown beautiful baby,” and I think it’s the funniest way anyone has ever described me.
Rest well, Baba.
History will be kind to you,
Because history remembers those who gave everything.
Baba, now you are away… forever.
And we feel lost.
And we feel orphaned.
RIP Baba Raila Amolo Odinga
The man who gave us hope,
Even when hope was hard to find
Baba, While You Were Away…
Baba, while you were away, the air felt heavier.
The streets seemed quieter.
We struggled, but we held on because we believed you would return,
That somehow, you’d come back and make things right, as you always did.
We remember your laughter, your defiance, your stubborn hope.
And now, Baba, you are away again
This time, not on a trip or in exile,
But beyond our reach, beyond our call.
And we feel orphaned.
We mourn you not as a politician,
But as a father of a nation that still aches to grow into the dream you carried.
We grieve because even in our disappointment,
We knew your love for this land was real.
You were our defender.
Our voice when others were silenced.
Our courage when fear sat in the hearts of many.
You carried the weight of a nation on your back,
And for that, Kenya owes you more than words could ever repay.
