Alex Karp said major AI firms have “completely, irresponsibly oversold” their models to businesses.

He said companies are “paying for tokens that create no value” while handing valuable data and IP to the same frontier labs.

When CNBC said he sounded angry, Karp replied: “This is the voice of American business that is being channeled through me.”

The comments came during a heated CNBC interview where Karp also attacked US reliance on OpenAI and Anthropic for national security AI.
