Doing a similar thing as we did against West Ham. Playing into tight spaces constantly rather than spreading the play and it’s working well for Everton defensively #MUFC
@TheFergusonWay I agree with you here, people always trying to find a scapegoat and academy players are easy targets because they should “know better” having come from the United academy. But Kobbie liking that post making fun of the coaches leaving isn’t a good look 😅
During the semi-final first leg at Athletic Bilbao, in the #mufc players' family section Garnacho and Mainoo were the only ones whose agents were present. A deal is struck for one to leave on the same day that the other makes it clear he wants to leave.
No back up LW option and no different RW option for United is killing us. Dalot is playing shite and Dorgu already looks like he needs a rest after 2 games. And then Grimsby score again great…. #MUFC
Amorim has had great support from United fans the last 10 months. I don’t think it will happen but if Mainoo left I think it would make a lot of United fans lose patience. I think Amorim is just wanting to protect him, but reports about lack of communication is worrying…. #MUFC
Thoughts on Kobbie Mainoo:
The current narrative that everyone is pushing about him being out of favour, not fancied by Ruben or not suitable for Ruben's setup is total utter rubbish. Aka a stupid twitter narrative.
I'll explain why:
Kobbie is still only 20 years old, still developing and yet is still playing a very important role in the team. If you cant see that your agenda is blinding you.
Ruben has been in charge of 43 games.
Kobbie has been involved in 28 of them.
Kobbie missed 9 games through injury.
That leaves only 6 games he wasn't part of.
Of the 28 games he was part of that included 15 starts.
Now the BIGGEST thing people seem to be overlooking and ignoring - Kobbie's injury record.
Last season he missed 83 days (18 games) due to injury.
The season before he missed 88 days (21 games)
Thats almost half of each season, for the last 2 seasons he's missed through injury. Just think about that for a second..
Ruben isnt stupid. He knows all about Mainoo, his strengths, his weaknesses and where he needs to grow and develop. He used him to great effect last season. The CM roles (both 6 & 8) in his formation take a lot of stamina and we do not want Kobbie getting injured again. We've got to be cautious with him.
Whether ypu like it or not, he is an integral part of this team. He can play 6, 8 or 10 and if we get any injuries he will step straight in and probably be a starter BUT there is absolutely no need to rush him or try to shoehorn him into the starting 11 for the sake of it. He will play a big part this season and will continue to build up his stamina, strength and all round fitness.
Take Phil Foden as a good example and how Pep integrated him slowly building him up season by season:
Age 18: 329 minutes (17'-18')
Age 19: 1110 minutes (18'-19')
Age 20: 1772 minutes (19'-20')
Age 21: 3376 minutes (20'-21')
Age 22: 3184 minutes (21'-22')
Now compare that to Kobbie:
Age 17: 87 minutes (22'-23')
Age 18: 2405 minutes (23'-24')
Age 19: 2069 minutes (24'-25')
Age 20: ?
You'll notice instantly Pep eased Foden in slowly over 3 seasons and built him up, where as Kobbie was thrown in at the deep end, his minutes sky rocketed from one season to the next and thats probably contributed to his injuries and him spending long spells on the sidelines.
Give the kid space, give him time to develop and earn his spot, stop putting unhelpful pressure on him and stop using him as a stick to beat Ugarte and others with. Lets not make the same mistakes with Kobbie we did with others.. there is no need to overhype him, no need to blow constant smoke up his arse.
Support him and he will flourish but just stop using him as ammunition to run pathetic agendas against Ruben or other players.
Anyhow thats my two cents in him. #MUFC
@UTDTrey You posted earlier all the games you’ve been to. Out of 17 we’ve never won while you’ve been in the stadium. Lyon doesn’t count because you left early 😭 So please stop posting and going to United games thanks 🙏
Barry honestly looks like he’s just trying to injure out players. Throws his elbow suspiciously hard against heaven then leaves one on De Ligt….. #MUFCTOUR25
I get Sancho wanting to leave Utd & get paid the same wage. But to hold a club to ransom demanding a severance package to leave is outrageous when the club is helping facilitate a move 🙄 I don’t like saying it but it really makes me hope he doesn’t do well. #MUFC
