@clanonn@clashreport Most SAMs use it as a backup, even then barely any weather reduces the effective distance drastically. IR range is limited compared to radar, Radar gives better accuracy at long range and high altitude. And IR seekers are more susceptible to countermeasures at longer ranges
@richimedhurst The cool thing about the USA is that it’s pretty tough to cover up deaths of soldiers as the families will be very loud if they don’t hear anything or think something’s fishy and the media will blast them out too
@Cisleithanian The fact that this company is only 24 years old, I think with how far they have come in that short amount of time, by the end of the century point to point on the earth is feasible and 10,000 launches a year is extremely feasible
@sentdefender How stupid do you have to be to get close to a destroyer😭 the CIWS shoots 75 rounds a second of tungsten one round to the leg would most likely blow off everything waist down
@pubity Fully support it, the biggest worry is people doing it and then doing it wrong and something bad happens, batteries are very easy to puncture and could start a fire, I hope that they maybe make the batteries packaging more robust so it’s not as easy to puncture
@Sentletse No shot, tower cranes like that take 2-3 weeks minimum to mobilize from transport to being built to starting lifting operations. Need to remove damaged concrete, new girders, steel decking, and manufacture new beams. This is probably from when they first built it
@FalconMarkor@sentdefender Exactly, I hope it’s not true for the sake of the pilots but also we forget that Iran is a professional military, with real training and weapons not some ragged terrorist group we have to expect casualties like this, even though in my opinion we shouldn’t be there
