This 75-storey residential skyscraper is set to be constructed in Miami. Sharing its designs for 619 Brickell, @FosterPartners said the waterfront tower was "inspired by the city's Art Deco heritage" and would become Miami’s first residential tower with amenities by Nobu Hospitality.
Developed by 13th Floor Investments and Key International the building is expected to break ground within the next year and complete in 2030.
Several tall hotel and luxury residential buildings are currently under construction in Miami. At 319-metres, the 100-storey Waldorf Astoria is set to become the city's first supertall skyscraper when it completes in 2028. It will be joined by Dolce and Gabbana's 319-metre 888 Brickell in 2029 and the 300-metre Delano Residences in 2030, among many other developments.
The US Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) limits the height of skyscrapers in Miami to 319-metres due to the close proximity of the city's international airport.

This is mad. Mega Builds was @bookshop_org_UK's number one biggest selling book for UK independent bookshops in May 2026 🎉
Proceeds from book sales through Bookshop go into a pool that is distributed to independent bookshops across the UK – and Mega Builds contributed the most to indies in May 2026.
Huge thank you to everyone supporting the book and to the many people who have written reviews or taken the time to message me with kind feedback on what they've read so far. Mega Builds is available online and in bookstores now📖 🙌
The biggest LEGO set ever created will dramatically recreate the incredible natural light displays found inside the real Sagrada Família ☀️
Unveiled to mark the centenary of Antoni Gaudi's death and the completion of major external construction works at the site, the set will feature 12,060 pieces and stand over 60-centimetres high.
LEGO is understood to have structured the model's build process around the Basilica's actual construction phasing, starting with the Apse with Crypt and the Nativity façade – the only part Gaudí completed before his passing.
Works on the real Sagrada Família first started in 1882 and have been ongoing for more than 140 years. Now standing 172.5-metres above Barcelona, the structure officially became the world's tallest church when it overtook Germany’s Ulm Minster, a building which had held the title since 1890.

Albania's 40-year-old Palace of Congresses is getting a major overhaul. Swiss architecture firm Herzog and de Meuron won an international design competition with its plans to retain and renovate the original performance spaces, while adding a new mixed-use office and hotel tower topped with a sky bar.
The B1M understands that the tower's height has not been officially confirmed, but it could stand "up to" 255-metres tall according to local reporting – a height that would make it one of the tallest skyscrapers in the Balkans.
In a statement, Herzog and de Meuron explained: "The Palace of Congresses remains an important witness to the history of both Tirana and Albania. Rather than altering its identity, the project seeks to strengthen its relationship with the city and its public realm. A new landscape gradually steps down toward a generous entrance, forming a palace garden that provides a welcoming setting for public gathering and everyday life. Alongside the Palace of Congresses, a multifunctional tower accommodating offices and a hotel completes the project, shaped by vernacular logic and integrated with the Palace and neighbourhood beyond."

Traditional media slowly but surely is losing it’s grip on the information space to the new streaming platforms and social media. Previously you’d go to the BBC or National Geographic for a documentary on the building of the new superstructure, airport or an engineering marvel of a bridge. In 2026 you open Youtube and search @TheB1M which has some of the best long form youtube content out there.
Books though, are not going anywhere. Massive congrats to @Fred_Mills for getting his book out there. It’s next on my list!
Breaking a new frontier. Construction teams are currently carving out the world's longest and deepest undersea road tunnel, out of sight, far beneath the freezing waters of a Norwegian fjord. Shanghai has a new art gallery. Designed by Foster + Partners, the 5,000-square-metre Jia Art Gallery forms a key part of the new Changfeng mixed-use development in the city's Putuo District. The building's form is inspired by the spring blessing flowers found in the local Changfeng park and is intended to emulate four petals 🌿
Displaying a mixture of contemporary art and more traditional pieces, the gallery consists of two buildings that are joined by a double height atrium. The north building houses the main exhibition areas, while the south building contains hospitality spaces and additional exhibition spaces, as well as an area for lectures.
Commenting on the building's completion, Lord Foster, Founder and Executive Chairman of Foster + Partners, said: “Jia Art is a project that demonstrates the significance of embedding art and culture in our cities. It will bring life to the public spaces, nurturing a sense of community identity, while playing an important role in integrating our new Changfeng development into the wider fabric of Shanghai.”

I set out to get the world to better appreciate and understand construction. It's a been a heck of a journey – but to see the book I wrote about the industry I love become one of the top-selling books in the country is incredibly humbling.
Thank you so much to everyone who has bought a copy, shared the book and supported me and @TheB1M team over the years. This would not have happened without you 🙏

The much-needed renovation of New York's Penn Station has moved a step closer after the US Department of Transportation (USDOT) and Amtrak appointed Penn Transformation Partners, a joint venture led by Halmar and Skanska, as developers for the project.
In a statement, Amtrak explained that the project would create a new entrance on Eighth Avenue leading to a new train hall, expand track capacity, improve the station’s existing subterranean structure, and "replace cramped, decrepit walkways with open, beautiful concourses."
Works are expected to start in late 2027.
The appointment of a developer comes after USDOT and Amtrak took control of the Penn Station project from New York's MTA in 2025. It is understood that the federal government will now provide $ 8BN in funding for the project, and that New York Governor Kathy Hochul has, as a result, withdrawn a $ 1BN commitment previously put forward by the state.
Commenting on the appointment news, US Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy said: “In selecting Penn Transformation Partners and their innovative plan, we are one step closer to delivering a world-class travel hub that daily commuters and travelers have dreamed of for decades. Under President Trump’s historic leadership, the days of Penn Station’s cramped hallways, broken infrastructure, and snarled rail lines are numbered. 2027 can’t come soon enough.”

New York's proposed 175 Park Avenue skyscraper has moved a step closer to overshadowing the iconic Chrysler Building. RXR Realty has now filed permits for the Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM)-designed structure that is due to sit adjacent to Grand Central Station.
First announced in 2021 under the working title Project Commodore, the mixed-use building takes advantage of amended zoning laws in Midtown East to rise to 95-storeys. If approved the structure will include office space and a hotel.
