Vale Geoff Bamford ποΈ
RV and the VJA are saddened to learn of the passing of former jockey Geoff Bamford, 76, owing to illness.
A respected rider and mentor, Geoff rode in races from 1962 to 2002 and continued riding trackwork until 2017.
He rode winners from Flemington to Towong with his biggest success the 1979 Marlboro Cup (now Rupert Clarke) on Private Talk.
Condolences to Geoffβs family and friends.
The Victorian Jockeys' Association has made a significant concession as negotiations ramp up to secure a jumpout riding fee for its members. @BradWWaters

Great win by the Cunning Fox on his jumps debut for Patrick Payne and polished ride Aaron Kuru. Follows on from Xaphan and Another Nephew's tough wins for Patrick. The Cunning Fox was a $34k @mmsnippets National Sale yearling buy and has returned $408,150!!! @m_felgate@Racing
