This Forbes investigation is a must-read.
Donald Trump pulled in roughly $1.4 billion from crypto in 2025, plus more than $200 million from real estate, and faced a projected tax bill north of $500 million. So his company donated the "development rights" to his Jupiter, Florida golf course to a land trust, argued the course was a natural habitat worth protecting, and kept right on running the club. Forbes estimates the write-off could land around $825 million.
He has done this at least five times since 2005. New York's attorney general alleged two of those appraisals were inflated. In Doral, he claimed a deduction of up to $323 million, more than double what he paid for the entire resort.
A month after the Jupiter deal, he sued the IRS. The settlement his own Justice Department signed bars claims against him over matters that "could be pending," language that appears broad enough to cover this year's taxes. A federal judge found the case was brought to manipulate the judicial process. And the man now running the IRS, who took the job as this deal was being assembled, has a home backing onto those same Jupiter fairways.
This is absolutely ridiculous. Nobody should be able to use the presidency to write his own tax bill.

.@SarahLongwell25: "Trump likes talking about Jon Husted's ass. He's on a weird bender about men's bodies right now."
@ezraklein: "He has been for a long time."
Longwell: "People say we're not ready for a gay president, but I disagree. I think we've already kind of got one."
Elon Musk is using Ken Paxton (the attack dog he has purchased) to go after Sam Altman, his top business and geopolitical rival. He didn't even wait until after the election.
This point of view has been made for years now, and I'm getting frustrated because it's very clear that he means he doesn't think Democrats represent the interests of working class white people, which are not strictly economic. That's what he doesn't want to lose.
There is almost nothing in GOP Trump policy that economically benefits the working class, which saw disproportionate wage gains and stable, low unemployment under Biden. I wish our journalists would be more honest and critical when folks say this.
There's no other way to describe it: Under Trump, the Republican Party has devolved into an absolute moral sewer of pedophiles, pedophile protectors, and criminal fraudsters.
Trump ran for president to give himself immunity from his many crimes, increase his net worth exponentially by obscenely profiting off the presidency, and ensure that he could get away with cheating on his taxes in the past, present and future. Oh, and to build a ballroom.
Sen Louise Lucas led the fight against GOP's underhanded redistricting push.
This is retaliation.
They've charged her with money laundering, and drug and firearm charges, because she invested in a weed store where its legal.
Claiming she is profiting from something that is federally illegal.
This has been one of the strangest weeks yet for Trump's health. At rally after rally, he blurted out random noises and seemed visibly confused. Now, he just posted this cryptic message:
Revelations about WH's involvement in Epstein memo in files pried loose by @DDFund_
Trump was briefed his name was in the files—later his deputy chief of staff was editing the memo that declared the matter closed

“When I first saw Jalen walk in the training facility I was like, this is not gonna work. His body, the heads too big, like how is he not falling forward the whole time?”
Dirk is hilarious 😂😂😂
We all agree, these bastards are going to jail, right?
Like just blatant election interference.
I don't want ANY of this soft glove 'politics as usual' approach.
Astonishing.
I've been tracking Trump admin corruption and self-dealing for the last 20 months.
Here are 10 stories (!!!) from just the last three weeks.
Literally. Every single one from October.
