Japan McDonald's is something else ๐ฎโ๐จ The self-checkout at Uniqlo was super cool as well ๐คฏ Today was a pretty chill day in Tokyo - we ventured out to see the Tokyo Skytree lit up at night from a lesser-known viewpoint. Thank you to the internet for such a cool tip! ๐ฏ๐ต
Asakusa is a district that retains the vibe of an older Tokyo & is home to Tokyo's oldest temple, Sensล-ji. We got to explore the area, as well as eat unagi don, melonpan, the richest matcha gelato in the world(!!), sweet potato ice cream, fried sweet potato, gyudon, & much more~
Caught the sunset at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, and had a delicious dinner at Saitamaya in Omoide Yokochล. Got some snacks/souvenirs at Cow Cow Kitchen by Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory & finished off with desserts at nana's green tea. 'Twas an amazing day in Japan ๐ฏ๐ต
As usual, Ben had an early start to the day, while I slept in until I missed breakfast. Today, we explored Shin-ลkubo (Tokyo's biggest Koreatown) and had a very cheesy lunch. We also visited Shinjuku Golden Gai, Hanazono Shrine, and Omoide Yokochล/Memory Lane/Piss Alley.
We then visited Yoyogi Park, one of Tokyo's largest green spaces and where we saw one of Japan's most impressive shrines - the famed Meiji Jingu shrine. For dinner, we ate some thickkk udon noodles at Menchirashi. We stocked up on fruits at the end of the night at Kameido Clock๐ฏ๐ต
Visited Harajuku, Tokyo's most fashionable neighborhood and the capital of kawaii. Tried to go Chanel bag shopping on Cat Street, but didn't have an extra $4.5-5k to spend, so decided to eat IKEA kiwi ice cream and soba noodles at Yoshisoba on Takeshita Street instead.
For dinner, we got glowing recommendations from Ben's cousin that Gyukatsu Motomura is hands down the best spot for beef katsu (beef cutlets). 'Twas an amazing day in Tokyo, Japan ๐ฏ๐ต

At the Ameyoko Market, we ate seafood bowls (kaisen-don), takoyaki, and tanghulu (candied fruit on a stick). After we were all full, we visited Akihabara, which houses Mandarake, the largest anime and manga store in the world, as well as gaming arcades like GiGO Akihabara 3.
