I have received the greatly troubling news regarding an increase in tensions between Cuba and the United States of America, two neighboring countries. I echo the message of the Cuban bishops, inviting all responsible parties to promote a sincere and effective dialogue, in order to avoid violence and every action that could increase the suffering of the dear Cuban people.
When someone says: "I don't know how to help"?
But all I'm asking is for people share and leave a dot.
3 replies — even dots — can save my children 💔

Pope Leo XIV was presented with two lambs on the occasion of the Memorial of St. Agnes of Rome, in the Vatican’s Urban VIII Chapel.
As is customary, the wool from these lambs will be used to make the Pallia for the new Metropolitan Archbishops.
These are not photos for documentation…⁉️
‼️ they are pieces of my daily life.‼️
I walk in the freezing cold to bring water from far away,
then return to cook on burning paper and smoke,
and then sit beside my mother — fighting cancer and with a broken foot — to give her her medicine.
Everything is hard… everything hurts… even the simplest things require a battle.
And all of this happens inside a tent with no heat, no equipment, no normal life.
For days, donations have been very slow… and we urgently need basic supplies.
If you read this, please don’t ignore it. Leave a dot to keep us seen.(.)

Carrying on a 45-year-old tradition, Pope Leo XIV baptized 20 children of Vatican employees in the Sistine Chapel on the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. In his homily, he stressed that when we know something is essential, we seek to give it to the people we love.
Yet, even greater than food or clothes—which are necessary for life—faith is even more essential. “For with God, life finds salvation”, the Pope said.
BREAKING
Pope Leo XIV spoke today about the situation in Venezuela following the arrest of Nicolas Maduro by the USA:
'It is with deep concern that I am following the developments in Venezuela. The good of the beloved Venezuelan people must prevail over every other consideration. This must lead to the overcoming of violence, and to the pursuit of paths of justice and peace, guaranteeing the sovereignty of the country, ensuring the rule of law enshrined in its Constitution, respecting the human and civil rights of each and every person, and working together to build a peaceful future of cooperation, stability and harmony, with special attention to the poorest who are suffering because of the difficult economic situation. I pray for all this, and I invite you to pray too, entrusting our prayer to the intercession of Our Lady of Coromoto, and to Saints José Gregorio Hernández and Carmen Rendiles'
“I would like to dedicate this concert to children who, in many parts of the world, have experienced this Christmas without lights, without music, without even what is necessary for human dignity and without peace”
Pope Leo tonight in the Sistine Chapel
In his homily on Christmas day, Pope Leo stressed that “a new day has dawned” and “we, too, are part of this new beginning, even if few as yet believe it: peace is real, and is already among you.”
In the Nativity scene, popular imagination has often inserted many figures drawn from daily life, populating the space around the grotto. They remind us that all our activities, all our daily occupations acquire their full meaning within God’s plan, which has its center in Jesus Christ.

Pope Leo is given a giant plush candy Peep (complete with papal miter) before his general audience.
The pope's brother had said Peeps were his favorite candy.
A group frantically yelled out that they had made it for the pope; Leo turned back and asked "you made it?"
My dear, I am so saddened by the state of donations. People have grown tired of them and have stopped donating, but the situation here is truly dire; there is no work and no life.

Please break painful stagnation now:
"Enough of these forms of antisemitic violence!"
Speaking with the groups that donated this year’s Vatican Christmas Tree and Nativity Scene, Pope Leo called for prayers for those who suffer on account of war and violence, especially the victims of Sunday’s attack on the Jewish community in Sydney, Australia.
