The attack on Jadavpur University by the RSS-ABVP goons who came on motorcycles to the campus reminded me of the attack on JNU in 2020, when the RSS-ABVP goons targeted comrade Aishe Ghosh, then president of the JNU Students Union. Their modus vivendi is to destroy the Left (this time they went after the Lenin statue at the 8B bus stop - familiar to me as the place where I would get off to come to the campus many years ago).
This is a fight that will not find an easy conclusion. The far right of a special type sees the left as the first enemy, and once they feel that they have dispatched the left - then they can shape society in their image, and what I see is ghastly.
Stand with the left activists and the students as well as the faculty.

SFI West Bengal organized a rally in front of Bankura Christian College to protest the brutal murder of Sheikh Mohammad Mafik in Karishunda village. Mohammad Mafik was targeted by BJP goons because his son Abdul Hafiz had participated in the student-youth movement against the NEET paper leak at Jantar Mantar and had raised the demand for better facilities in his village school. SFI stands in solidarity with the bereaved family in their struggle for justice and is organizing protests statewide against the killing.
