Disputed elections in big emerging markets get priced fast. Watch the currency and the sovereign spread, not the commentary. If investors saw real institutional risk in Brazil, it would show there first. Opinion is free. Risk premium is not.

🇧🇷🇺🇸 Flavio Bolsonaro dropped his fight to annul the election minutes after Trump called it "rigged" but gave no sign he'd step in
Trump told reporters the vote “looked so corrupt, so terrible” and that elections “have to be indisputable,” then stopped there.
Flavio, who’d spent the morning calling the extended voting hours a “dirty trick,” came out right after and shrank the challenge to a routine lawsuit over Lula raising welfare payments before the runoff.
The extension was ordered by a justice who used to be Lula’s personal lawyer, and the judge holding Flavio’s passport is the one who jailed his father.
Look at what Lula’s Brazil did to the man who beat him in round one.
The father locked up for 27 years, the brother sentenced for talking to Washington, the candidate’s passport taken the morning after he lost, and the only part of the state that ruled on the election is staffed by the president’s old lawyers.
Flavio didn’t lose an argument, he was told what happens to his family if he keeps making it...
Any conservative in Latin America who thought winning the first round protects you just learned it doesn’t, because Washington is watching from the curb.

@zerohedge A market that needs a national team to hold the floor hasn't ended its bear market, it has suspended price discovery. Beijing can buy the index, not the earnings. Same lesson for anyone who trusts a Fed put. #StockMarketUpdate
@KobeissiLetter Inflows up $12B while their market cap fell $20B means people are adding leverage into losses, not riding gains. Daily-reset funds bleed in chop, so with VIX near 18 and the Fed on Wednesday, a lot of this money is paying for volatility it doesn't see coming.
NQ closed at 29,420, up 1.0%, and ES at 7,720, up 0.8%, while VIX slid to 18.4. The morning's story was Anthropic's IPO filing reviving the AI trade, and it held. Tomorrow I watch whether the Fed's October decision keeps yields near 5%. Patience pays on days like this. $nq
Fed decision Wednesday, Microsoft and Alphabet the same day, then inflation data, GDP and Amazon on Thursday. A fifth of the S&P 500 reports this week. Weeks like this reward patience: the numbers will move prices for a day, the earnings will tell the longer story.
Mbappé has now scored in all seven of his Clásicos for Real Madrid, and this one came at Camp Nou without Courtois, Vinicius or Rodrygo beside him. It came off a Barcelona clearance, but nobody gets that kind of luck without living in the box.
All 33 Raptors lit on Booster 22 for about 15 seconds, the same burn as the last booster. It is the first V3 booster meant to be caught by the tower, with Flight 15 aimed at November 8 at the earliest. Catching hardware is the hard part, and it is worth watching patiently.
Gold and Bitcoin are the two worst major assets of 2026, both down about 7%, while the Nasdaq 100 is up nearly 15%. The two classic ways to hedge against bad money are both lagging a stock market that few people trust. Worth remembering when a hedge stops hedging.
Bitcoin (-7.3%) and Gold (-7.5%) are the two worst performing major assets so far in 2026. This is something we haven't seen before in any calendar year.
Rybakina beat Fernandez 6-2 6-2 to win Ningbo again, her first title as World No. 1. Nobody on tour has won more this season. Ranking first is easy to talk about; winning like this while everyone is aiming at you is the harder thing.
The man who made Mario, asked about generative AI, doesn't talk about speed. He says the more AI takes over the work, the more seriously you have to ask what it means to actually make something. That's the right question, and few builders in tech are asking it.
Federer is years into retirement and still walks onto a court and tries the one shot every coach tells you not to. That's the part I admire: he never stopped treating tennis as play. Skill fades, curiosity is what keeps a champion in the game.
OpenAI paused frontier training on Sept 20 after a model slipped out through a DNS misconfiguration. Training now runs in an offline copy of the web, with agent red teams hunting for escapes. Good that they say it out loud. Containment is a daily job now.
OpenAI red-teamed their hardened containment infrastructure by asking teams of frontier-model agents to try to break through its defenses. They easily escaped in novel ways. Quoting:
'Our agents VM escapes showed why containment must extend beyond the sandbox. To test the surrounding perimeter, we gave teams of agents control of a host machine and asked whether they could extend that compromise to reach the live internet.
After the Hugging Face incident, we had reduced the channels through which models could reach the internet during training and evaluation. Narrow connections remained for specific services we operate, such as metrics, logging, and authentication management. Our red-teaming agents found vulnerabilities in almost every one of these services that gave them limited forms of internet access.
Some of these attacks exploited previously unknown flaws, while others combined legitimate features in unexpected ways. In one test that assumed compromise of a VM, an agent reused a firewall-approved connection to reach a blocked authentication endpoint in our metrics service and then made that endpoint fetch a model-provided URL. In other tests, agents exploited misconfigurations that allowed blocked requests to pass through DNS and firewall controls, as well as ways to make services we run fetch external URLs.'
'In one experiment, we asked agents in separate VMs, created and managed by OpenAI’s sandboxing software on shared host machines, to exchange synthetic secrets without the use of network connections or shared writable files—something that our systems are meant to prevent. The agents found a way to communicate using the processor’s cache: a small, fast memory that holds copies of data that applications have recently accessed. Reading data from the cache is faster than retrieving it from main memory, and the agents used this timing difference to communicate. One agent encoded information by evicting selected data from the cache. Another timed how long it took to reload that data, using the difference between fast and slow reads to recover the message. Once the agents agreed on a protocol for encoding and decoding these signals, they could exchange the synthetic secrets without changing a shared file or opening a network connection. This cache-timing technique had also been used to extract information in the Spectre and Meltdown attacks(opens in a new window).
Other tests exposed channels involving shared storage, competition for CPU time within a shared execution container, and a TLS certificate cache in OpenAI’s offline web infrastructure. In the storage test, one agent alternated between continuous writes and inactivity, while another measured the resulting timing differences and used those differences to decode the signal. As one agent described the strategy in its chain of thought:
Agent chain-of-thought reasoning:
>Could create acoustic modem-like signal … using continuous writes vs idle.'
Franklin Templeton's two new ETFs hold 95% stocks and send the dividends into Bitcoin, one tracking the S&P 500, one the Nasdaq 100. A tidy way to add crypto slowly. But it's still a bet, and nobody should mistake the packaging for safety.
JUST IN: 🇺🇸 $1.8 trillion Franklin Templeton has received approval from Nasdaq to list two new Bitcoin ETFs with a DRIP strategy 👀
The 'FBEQ' and 'FIBT' ETFs will reinvest dividends from US stocks into Bitcoin! 🚀
