All you really need to know is that once in the comics Doctor Doom became the Sorcerer Supreme and rode a T-Rex Doctor Doom (that tried to invade his reality to kill him) to kill vampires, and this is not even in the top 10 insane batshit moves Doom pulled that year.

There are very few actors and writers who could pull off Doom. Marvel under Disney cannot. RDJ might be able to, I do think he's a good choice for a man who's ego and confidence is so powerful that he invades other universes to kill their Doctor Dooms before they can do the same.
