10 Years In Trading Taught Me These 8
Things

1. Don’t close Trades unless they hit TP or SL. This teaches you to avoid GREED and FEAR in Trading.

2. Look for multiple confirmations and only Trade the markets when those particular confirmations appear.

3. Don’t change strategies every now and then. This delays progress.

4. Avoid being in multiple forex groups in the beginning, this will only confuse you.

5. The higher timeframe will always be king.

6. A complicated strategy doesn’t mean a profitable strategy. Simplicity is key.

7. Patience is King when Trading.
Trading is primarily the skill of waiting.
If you can’t develop patience, you were not meant to be a Trader or investor.

8. Document your Trades. Understand and analyse why you lost or won a Trade so you can use that information in the future.

How to Build a Profitable Trading Strategy

1. Choose one market
→ Example: XAUUSD

2. Choose your timeframe
→ Higher (H4/D1) for trend
→ Lower (M30/15)for entry

3. Define your setup
→ Liquidity Sweep → Structure Shift → FVG / Order Block → Entry

4. Set strict entry rules
→ Enter only when all conditions are met.

5. Define SL & TP
→ SL: beyond invalidation point
→ RR: 1:2 or 1:3

6. Risk Management
→ Risk 0.5%–1% per trade
→ Don’t increase lot size after loss.

7. Backtest
→ Test on 100–200 trades
→ Check win rate, RR, drawdown

8. Forward test
→ Test on demo in real market

9. Keep a trading journal
→ Screenshot all trades and write reason, SL, TP and result.
