🚨 Florida AG Calls For Sarasota Teacher’s Firing, License Revocation Over Alleged Political Harassment Of 8th-Grader

Florida AG James Uthmeier is calling for a Pine View School for the Gifted teacher to be fired and have her educator certificate revoked over allegations that she harassed and disparaged an eighth-grade student because of his conservative views.

In a letter dated September 21, 2026, addressed to Superintendent Terry Connor and the Sarasota County Schools board, Uthmeier says his Office of Parental Rights was informed of allegations involving Pine View history teacher Liz Ballard.

According to the letter, the student told Ballard that his parents “expressly forbid him to take part” in political discussions in her classroom. Uthmeier alleges Ballard nevertheless continued engaging the student as the “conservative perspective” in the classroom.

The AG further alleges Ballard eventually labeled the student a “misogynist,” that the label spread around the school, and that she made disparaging remarks about the student’s father.

The letter also states that multiple HR investigations initiated by multiple parents have involved Ballard. The letter does not state the findings or outcomes of those investigations.

Uthmeier cites Florida’s anti-bullying law, Sarasota County School Board policy and Florida’s Principles of Professional Conduct for educators. He writes that, provided the allegations are corroborated, the conduct would violate Florida law, district policy and educator ethics.

His conclusion is explicit:

“Based on the foregoing allegations, if true, Ms. Ballard should be dismissed and her educator certificate revoked.”

Uthmeier has given Sarasota County Schools until October 1, 2026, to advise his office what actions the district “has taken, or will take” to address the situation.

The letter was also copied to Florida Commissioner of Education Dr. Henry Mack.

These remain allegations presented by the Attorney General’s Office, and the letter itself repeatedly conditions its conclusions on the allegations being corroborated and proven true.

Now the question is how Sarasota County Schools responds.

I stopped by the Oppose Manasota Beach Rd sign wave about a week and a half ago and spoke with Bonnie, a longtime South County resident who felt compelled to show up and make her voice heard.

She talked about protecting Florida’s native hammock habitat, preserving open space, and making sure future generations can enjoy the natural beauty that makes this area special.
Her message to the community:
“When you see this group out on 776 and Manasota Beach Road, honk, say hi, and look into what they’re standing for.”

I spoke with a Trump supporter who walked through the May Day protest in Venice (May 1st, 2026) and asked protesters one simple question:
“Why don’t you like Trump?”
He said nobody wanted to answer him directly. (I did hear someone say “you’re not welcome here”)
During the conversation, he defended Trump’s focus on American workers and argued that many of the people protesting didn’t actually understand what they were protesting against.
“These people are old hippies. They don’t know what they’re talking about.”
Think he made a fair point?

🚨 Protestors assault and batter trump supporter
This went on for about 30 minutes, and it was clearly visible:
▶️ People repeatedly got in his face
▶️ Individuals put their hands on him
▶️ He was poked with the metal ends of yard signs
▶️ Someone intentionally shoved his megaphone into his face, causing him to bleed
You can disagree all you want. But the way people were approaching him, getting physical, and targeting him like this was completely uncalled for.
The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office was there. They could see what was happening. And no action was taken. Why?
This was at the “No Kings” protest in Port Charlotte.
This should not be acceptable - no matter who you agree/disagree with. Have a civil discussion, do not do what this group did.

Make no mistake - Pat wasn’t there to have a fruitful discussion, it was an act. He gets a kick out of others feeling defeated, notice how he dumps these people after realizing they aren���t the ones he came to mess with and taunt. When he gets in front of the TV reporters camera his tone immediately changes.
This is his nature, there are many like him - while you do need to contend with him, the community really needs to get grassroot candidates into office who will simply tell him “No”.
