So, a bit random, but following a conversation I had in work earlier: if you could make real any sci-fi tech or invention, what would it be?

I think I'd go for Star Trek's Replicator - solves world hunger at a stroke, and would benefit the climate too [no more farmlands needed]

Does anyone know if a disclaimer (that a piece of writing is fiction and entirely made up) is enough to protect against legal action?

As in, if I write a satirical piece featuring real people, but include a disclaimer at the end that it's all fabricated, can I still be sued?

How does everyone write their first drafts? Do you try to use correct spelling and grammer, and a consistent tense/POV from the very start? Or do you just try to get the scenes down on the page, and make it all presentable later? #WritingCommunity
