I think it's not wild to assume, a neatly deployed open source model can cut the cost down by a factor of 100x to 1000x as of today, compared to the cloud providers for the same tasks with much better results.

On the surface it might look like it's a move to protect GPU dominance, but I think as the coding models are improving, so is the ease of using open source models.

@GohilHardy Yes, and it kind of matches with my experience as well. In my experience, I have found that less-reasoning models tend to perform better and write higher-quality code compared to more high-reasoning models, which is insane.
