i think one could argue that aang and katara uniting the four nations had a lot to do with both korra and pavi being able to naturally bend the elements with less training because they’d been exposed to different types of bending from younger ages
Aang was a prodigy, yet it still took him 3 seasons to learn the other elements. It took discipline, dedication, and sacrifice.
Then we have a 9 year old who isn’t even portrayed as some generational genius, casually bending all 4 elements like it’s Tuesday🥀
@nrmtenjoyer I read it as he is in a hurry right now and maybe also struggles with how to handle kids in this situations when he doesn't have time to explain. Also being kind of an authority figure sometimes makes it so that you often use your authority to command obedience.
Why did they have to make the new Avatar disabled?
The whole point of the Avatar is to be the most capable bender, someone who can master all four elements and stand against threats nobody else can handle. Why deliberately give Pavi a disability that could limit her abilities when they could have made her a complete powerhouse instead?
@Rogue_Jedi_Theo@KymelaTejasi Also Korra was hotheaded and lacked the calm demeaner that is usually associated with air bending, so it makes sense she would struggle with air. Just like how Aang lacked headstrong nature of Earth bending.
@toasterlighting But don't you see, she's a girl and she can't be good at something. So if she is good at something means she is the master and it is an attack on men. You ask me how, uhhh, because woke? SJW? uh something something current day politics.
This is going around so let me talk about world building.
During Aang's time, all four nations were isolationist, they didn't mingle until the defeat of the Fire Lord. After which, Benders now were trading openly, interacting peacefully and intermarrying. It's increasingly common to have children now with different element bending. And with metropolises such as Republic City under the rule of no singular bending related nation, only increases exposure to all four more.
Now, children in real life learn through mimicry, copying what adults do because every kid wants to grow up and be independent. They require adults, though, to fine tune and improve these skills, but they can learn basics on their own.
Pavi and Nisha are in a unique spot where the apocalypse happened. We know massive destructive storms happen all the time and it's the Avatar themself that is blamed for it (obviously setting up so it was Korra that actually saved it). No adults can be trusted, you will be hunted down and possibly even killed if you reveal yourself. So naturally, you do your best to improve what you can by copying adults. And now that bending specific nations are no longer a thing, it's easier to see observe how people use the elements.
Pavi and Nisha are also shown to not to be the best. They imitate Jae to improve their air bending to fight the storms or save the camedillo. Other benders who know their secret are also training them, with Nisha being far more obviously trained (by 3 years) than Pavi.
I get people want to find things they hate on the show because it's the new show. And some racists are going to hate Pavi and Nisha entirely because they're dark skinned girls. Every show isn't and shouldn't just be "Aang's story but with a different mask". Korra, Pavi and Nisha all exist in different periods of history in different geopolitical (and in the new show's case, geological) periods in time. Showcasing out of context clips, while pointing and saying how awful it is isn't really critiquing, it's just cherry picking.
We have seen the OHCHR’s remarks about today’s events in New Delhi.
India is the world’s largest democracy, where the right to peaceful assembly is guaranteed by our Constitution and safeguarded by robust institutions, an independent judiciary and a free media. As in every democracy, Indian citizens exercise this right subject to reasonable restrictions in the interest of public order. The authorities, for their part, act in accordance with the law, and our courts remain available to all for redressal of any grievances.
The OHCHR’s concerns are therefore misplaced and constitute an unwarranted interference in the internal affairs of India.
In this context, OHCHR would also do well to devote comparable attention to large-scale protests elsewhere, consistent with its mandate of impartiality and non-selectivity.

@Stealth40k@sx2heartbeat Also remember people who have physical of the S1 version can still upgrade for far cheaper, so people who buy the physical edition are usually collectors.
on one end, he wants India to stop sending rockets and focus on farmers.
on the other end, he wants starlink to provide internet in India...
