His words brought the duchess a sense of satisfaction, for her only wish was the safety of her people.
"As the ruler of Toussaint, I must ensure that anyone who enters our peaceful realm does not seek to sow chaos."
He gave a polite enough greeting, or at least as polite of one as a sailor could.
"Me? Trouble? No no no... Not at all, I swear it. Whatever could have you concerned I'd disturb the harmony you have here in Toussaint?"
"Let him pass!"
The sound of her voice alone was enough to make the guards step aside. The man was familiar to the Duchess, though she had not expected to see him here.
@RaudrDreki
As the man greeted the Duchess, she let her lips curve into a small, politely measured smile.
"You certainly know how much I cherish peace, and how Toussaint is a haven of it. I do hope you’re not here to disturb that harmony."
@NILFSAILOR
She raised a brow at him. Geralt would always be Geralt, and the witcher never failed to bring a smile to her face, well, except for that time he dragged a vampire into Toussaint, or for the trouble that so often followed in his wake. But in the end, Geralt had helped her too. ~
"Damn centipedes like to start shit around Corvo Bianco, but otherwise all is well."
He let out a little huff, taking in the cool breeze and leaning into it ever so slightly.
"It's good to see you after, well... everything. Good times, huh?"
Anna Henrietta swept her hand in a graceful gesture around them. The air was crisp with autumn’s chill; the harvest was done, and the wine had reached its richest flavor.
"I can’t complain. And you?"
"I trust you haven’t brought another brood of vampires to Toussaint, @SILVER4M0NSTERS."
With her arms folded neatly across her chest, the duchess inclined her head in greeting to the Witcher.
