I had #breastcancer. As in past tense, but it is still a very real part of my everyday. I don’t know how the heck to live this life, but I’m giving it my best shot. #choosejoy#bereal#bekind https://t.co/wJEN9It4Bh
"Be real. Be you. It’s enough.
Because having #cancer, and navigating survivorship, are both hard enough. No one should feel pressured to smile her/his way through either one." @NancysPoint#breastcancer#bcsm https://t.co/7K7etzDXKc
Rant: I am amazed that in 2020, a PCP would look at a 27 yo patient with a growing breast lump (who has 6 #MBC and two stage 3 BC cases in 3 generations with a #BRCA2 mutation - 3 of which were under 40) and say “you’re too young for breast cancer, don’t worry about it” 🤬 #AYA
Taking the aromatase inhibitor Arimidex for 5 years was shown to reduce the risk of #breastcancer in postmenopausal women at higher risk, even years after they stopped taking the medicine - appears to be more effective than tamoxifen, Dr. Jack Cuzick of @QMUL said at #SABCS19
Non-cancer person: “You’ve finished #cancertreatment why don’t you move on with your life & leave cancer behind you?”
Me: “Because if it wasn’t for those of us who’d been there, there wouldn’t be the same awareness, support, advice & community that there is for others with it.”
I was told the same thing, but my instincts told me otherwise and I didn’t stop at the first Drs recommendation for a follow-up appt in 4 months. Trust yourself!
"I think one of the reasons my lump was dismissed for so long is that it hurt, I was often told, 'It's fine, [because] breast cancer doesn’t hurt.' But mine was very painful." Have you heard this myth? https://t.co/ZJW4syDzto
At my bone density scan today, when asked to verify my date of birth, I replied with, “too young for a bone density test.” Too freaking young. 🖕🖕🖕 #breastcancer
@jenniferraven3 @bccww Three years out from chemo, but fatigue is still going strong. Maybe it’s from my Tamoxifen. Exercise, acupuncture, meditation before bed, drinking lots of water...no magic solution, but instead a portfolio of attempts to improve things.
It would typically be comforting to find someone of similar age to relate to, in a waiting room, but in this case it’s devastating...another young life impacted by breast cancer. #weareinthistogether
Every time I’m in a waiting room at the cancer center and I see another young person, I wish we had some sort of hand signal to give each other, like “solidarity. I’m right there with you.”
@AudsDisease I used a combination of products 3-4 times a day. This one in particular that a nurse recommended to me was very soothing:

Holy shit. If one more person asks how I have cancer AND hair I am going to freaking lose it. Do I ask you why you’re a female AND have a mustache Brenda? No. I don’t. Because I’m not a twat waffle.
