@Leafs_Xtra Tired of hearing “oh he left because of Matthews and Marner.” He left because he wants to coast the rest of his career.

Ryan O’Reilly was useless in the playoffs for the #LeafsForever so naturally he chose Nashville where he can listen to bad country music and retire in mediocrity.

Too much pressure for a man that just wants to play hockey and get paid at this point.

To get a better idea of what the #LeafsForever are getting in first-round pick Easton Cowan, I talked to scouts who watched him all year.

Joseph Aleong, Ontario Scout at FC Hockey, had this to say:

“Easton Cowan is a high-energy forward who has the hands and vision to make plays off the loose pucks that his tenacity helps create. He has a very high work rate off the puck and routinely goes into board or net front battles and comes away with puck possession. He can make plays at high speed and shows the awareness to make quick plays on offense to get himself into strong shooting positions.

While his hallmark is his tenacious style of play and quick acceleration, Cowan displayed more confidence with the puck down the stretch and into the playoffs, creating more off the rush and finding a way to make an impact in all situations. While his scoring profile isn’t typical of a first round pick, Cowan’s rapid improvement in the second half and aggressive mindset are promising signs he can develop into a secondary scorer with special teams utility in the NHL.”

Bedard is going to struggle in Chicago while Fantilli thrives in Columbus. #NHLDraft2023

#LeafsForever are expected to pursue #Flames Noah Hanifin this summer.

Calgary is less interested in a package offered from #LetsGoBuffalo as they are looking for players to help compete now, not in 3-5 years.

Potential trade could include: Nylander, Brodie, or Robertson

@Leafs_Xtra Makes you wonder how long the Penguins and Dubas were actually talking for. I’m thinking probably since just after the trade deadline…

[Leafs Xtra @Leafs_Xtra]

To me, that showcases the difference between the two men.

Treliving showed that he’s genuinely a good person and appreciative of his experiences and relationships.

While Dubas demonstrated that he will say or do anything to advance his career and climb the ladder.

[Leafs Xtra @Leafs_Xtra]

I also couldn’t help but notice that during Kyle Dubas’ #LetsGoPens press conference, he didn’t mention the Leafs or Shanahan after giving him his first opportunity in the NHL.

First thing #LeafsForever Treliving did in his press conference was thank Calgary, going name by name

[Leafs Xtra @Leafs_Xtra]

It’s been a month since this moment #LeafsForever

@Carlospreza17 Big day for hockey. Big headache for me.

[The Fanalyst Post @TheFanalystPost]

@itsrickymann Yeah he is. But I couldn’t let the other bozos in my league get him. He’s ahead of schedule for his return.

[The Fanalyst Post @TheFanalystPost]

@itsrickymann I took pastrnak at 10

[The Fanalyst Post @TheFanalystPost]

@itsrickymann You had to pick him at that point. Way she goes sometimes
