I have a poem, “The Gun,” published in @TheAtlantic today from my new book.
Hate how relevant it is. Hate how timely it continues to be. Hate how we could do something to stop this from happening, but continue not to.

@JanessaTaylor20@tpjmd@BYU Testimony is a personal thing. Using the presence or lack of signifiers (duration of prayer, haircut, following list on Twitter) to gauge someone’s testimony is fraught with error. It’s probably best to assume the best.
Words matter. Internment has always been a euphemism for what really happened to 120,000 Japanese Americans during World War II. They were incarcerated. We thank the @latimes for taking this step.

@ldsfootnotes Not sure if I understand the point you’re making. If someone believes the BOM is inspired and supports catalyst theory, couldn’t the seer stone “reveal” information about the brass plates? What am I misunderstanding? Genuinely curious.
@CecProff@mormons_speak Right, and the brass plates weren’t the “golden plates”. I don’t remember hearing about JS Jr. having the brass plates. I think we could still ask why JS Jr. ever needed the plates for translation purposes if they weren’t really used.
@GatherIsrael@phil0sphere Why would God hide his reasons for this? Lots of contradictions with this one. I want all my children to return to me and I want the gathering to happen right now. But oh wait, I want generations of prophets to cut off millions of my children from my saving ordinances. 😕
@GatherIsrael@phil0sphere I could be wrong about this, but it seems like the idea of an “ongoing Restoration” is a fairly recent idea. Preach My Gospel, at least when I was a missionary, always said “Restored” not “Restoring”.
@SlubbUsa @MartyLenz_KOA @RadioFreeTom@TheAtlantic The more left wing people leave, the more right wing cesspool it becomes. At least that's what I gathered from the @RadioFreeTom article. Are there ways to avoid the cesspool on here? I'm genuinely curious. Follow select people and then don't venture into the trending topics?
@CelestialYeti Looks like this is the study referred to in the Ensign (https://t.co/MusBVdE3oX). Do you know if their computational analysis has been replicated? It may not even be necessary because other evidence overwhelmingly suggests multiple authors?
