Clark Kent, standing on a stage to give a press conference: People of Metropolis, I’m here today to tell you something
Clark Kent, taking off his glasses and unbuttoning his shirt to show the Superman costume: I’m Superman
People of Metropolis: Hey where’d Clark go
@ironfist_ebooks I read a good chunk of their Harley Quinn rebirth run and it singlehandedly resulted in me being completely unable to stand the character.
@LetsTalkTommie I know that it's just a random percentage of them that die, but I love the idea that when Pat's all seized up in the STRIPE suit Courtney's internally thinking "Oh no, how racist IS he?"
@LetsTalkTommie I love the one moment of doubt when they all look at each other like "are we the baddies?" before literally scrolling down further and being like "oh no, if people try too hard to stay racist they die." and being like "oh no, these guys have to go DOWN.
I'm so tired of the Flash book being nothing but fan-service and throwbacks. Isn't this character supposed to be about moving forwards? That's what I love about him, but every time a big new story comes out it's about all of the old stories. Hopefully this run improves from here?
It's not what I'm waiting for anymore. I'm waiting to get beyond Wally, beyond Barry, for something that goes forwards. And if you enjoyed the annual, then more power to you. But I think the Flash needs more. they keep copying the style and content of Waid, but not the substance
@grnarrow_ebooks The first one that always come to mind for me is Detective Comics #500, To Kill a Legend. Probably my favorite single issue Batman story.
