@T0mdrum@Ditzo22@creation247 Fahrenheit dude based his scale in three reference points and two of them were water.
To say "we don't need to know water temperature" is silly because if that's the case, you don't really need to know temperature at all. Cars, for instance have 2: hot and cold.
@LeftAnimalFarm@creation247 I can see that from a preference standpoint and I can't argue with that. F has a larger scale that allows for greater variation.
@Ambientereal1@jbo5112@creation247 I would second that. Water consumes one calorie/gram/degree Celsius.
If you're calculating energy needed to alter a volume of water there's nothing simpler than metric. Now if you can do that using the imperial system without breaking your face you deserve a prize.
@brenorb@creation247 Aha!!! So Fahrenheit dude WAS aiming for zero, huh? :)
I am sure he was brilliant, I just think Celsius guy had it in a simpler way.
@T0mdrum@creation247 Fair but the way the temperature should feel is not a constant. The temperature of water is. Besides, 70 is an arbitrary number and you only accept it based on perception. What you feel is not what the person next to you feels.
