On February 24, Jindal Stainless organised the Annual Summit for Stainless Swachhata Abhiyaan in Danagadi, Jajpur. Connecting over a shared vision of “Mo Gaon, Swachh Gaon” (My Village, Clean Village), the summit brought together 200+ local community members, including women leaders and local youth. The presence of the Block Development Officer, Danagadi, Mr Pradeep Kumar Sethy, and the Unit Head, Jajpur, Jindal Stainless, Mr Deepak Agrawal, reinforced the collective commitment to clean, waste-free communities as a cornerstone of public health.​

Reflecting on the summit, MD, Mr @abhyudayjindal, said, “Through initiatives such as ‘Stainless Swachhata Abhiyaan’ Summit, our endeavour is to mobilise communities to actively participate in sustainable waste management practices, fostering cleaner and healthier surroundings across Odisha.”​

What started as a waste management initiative, has grown into a community-powered movement, now reaching 1,000+ households and benefiting over 2,500 individuals every day. Through collaborations and community engagement, SSA continues to demonstrate how collective leadership, local ownership, and inclusive participation can build cleaner, healthier, and more resilient villages.​

Hon’ble Union Minister of Housing & Urban Affairs and Power, Shri @mlkhattar, along with Hon’ble Union Minister of Jal Shakti, Shri @CRPaatil, co-chaired the National Preparatory Meeting with States and UTs on Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS).

The meeting focused on the preparatory measures and guidelines to States and UTs for the 8th edition of the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), under the theme Swachhta Hi Seva (SHS), scheduled from 17th September to 2nd October. The theme “Swachhotsav” was introduced by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri @narendramodi, in the 125th edition of Mann Ki Baat.

Five key preparatory measures were highlighted:

- Cleanliness Target Units (CTUs)

- Clean Public Places

- Safai Mitra Shivir

- Clean-Green Festivities

- Advocacy for Swachhta

The Hon’ble Union Minister of Housing & Urban Affairs emphasized that “Swachhta is our Dharma.” He further assured close monitoring of the cleanliness drive to ensure that the dream of Mahatma Gandhi is realized in its true spirit.

Co-chaired the National Preparatory Meeting on Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 with Shri @CRPaatil Ji and MoS @tokhansahu_bjp Ji. Scheduled from 17th September to 2nd October, the 8th edition of the SBM's Swachhata Hi Seva will focus on making public spaces cleaner, celebrating festivals in a clean and green manner, mobilizing Safai Mitras, and driving strong advocacy for Swachhta.

With people’s participation at its core, Swachhta Hi Seva will transform cleanliness into a true Jan Andolan. As I emphasized in the meeting, “Swachhta is our Dharma.” Together, let us realize Bapu’s vision of a clean and healthy India.

The planet will not be saved by one hero, but by millions of us making conscious choices every day.

Yesterday, on #WorldEnvironmentDay, I felt proud of what we’ve built at @Jindal_Official. What started as a small initiative at one location has turned into meaningful action that has now extended to the neighbouring communities around our plants. We’ve gone from collecting 3 tonnes of plastic waste last year to 13.5 tonnes this year. That’s a big shift, and it reflects the commitment of everyone who chose to be part of this effort.

What makes this even more meaningful is knowing the collected plastic won’t just end up in a landfill. It will be recycled into something useful. Benches, chairs, dustbins, everyday items that remind us that even waste can have a second purpose.

Sustainability has a compounding effect. We all need to do our bit for the planet.

Our team conducted a #CapacityBuilding Workshop for the housekeeping staff at Jaypee Public School, Noida earlier today. The school has been associated with our #ZeroWaste program for over 3 years and have shown tremendous commitment to bring changes at the grassroots level.
