What do work coaches even do at the jobcentre? Every one I've spoken to is not helping me get to a stable situation where I could eventually consider some form of part-time work. They are hostile, evasive and seem to only act as DWP gatekeepers. They literally sound like AI bots
Politicians obsess over the cost of supporting disabled people.
Far fewer ask what happens when disabled people can't afford care, transport, equipment, heating or treatment.
The bill doesn't disappear. It simply turns up elsewhere.
The Tories made everyone on UC, the sick, the disabled & pensioners live in a constant state of fear. They felt a sigh of relief for a whole 2 MONTHS into a Labour Govt and they have been terrified every single day since.
LEAVE WELFARE ALONE.
2016 UN found the treatment of disabled people UK was, a 'Human catastrophe' and followed, "grave and systematic violations"
UK only country in the world investigated
2022, ONS and EHRC warns that many disabled people face discrimination “continues to worsen” in light of cost-of-living pressures.
No journalist says this when they attack disabled people repeatedly

I would like to see more trauma therapists campaigning about bad housing and precarious housing cos that shit is one of the biggest triggers out there.
The hysteria the media are whipping up about welfare must STOP. They are deliberately allowing lies & misinformation to be spouted by MP's & Ministers. Not one actually knows or understands how the system works, they seem to simply copy and paste whatever the Mail says.
STOP IT.
It’s clear that whoever succeeds Starmer as PM *must* sack Pat McFadden, who is a fiscal psychopath devoid of any humanity.
Labour MPs rightly opposed the welfare cuts they were being told to vote for because they would have punished sick and disabled people.
At least 40% of #UniversalCredit claimants are in employment. They claim because their employers do not pay them enough. The overwhelming majority are working class women in low paid jobs, many work in care. The solution is a proper living wage not attacking the working poor.
The idea that benefits get in the way of life is a strange one. For many people, benefits are the thing standing between living and not surviving at all.
The question “how do we help you change your life” implies that benefits claimants are doing life wrong somehow. But worklessness is not worthless, Pat.
All I know is until I went through a period of real depression I had no idea how debilitating it could be. After that period I refuse to be caught up in this scapegoating. We need to tell the public the truth. Here it is ⬇️

Local Housing Allowance (LHA) is meant to cover rent for 30% of housing stock for those on a low income
But Labour's freeze on LHA means it now only covers 11%-16%
⚠️ 175,000 newly without full support
⚠️ 900,000 already with shortfall made worse
PIP is, and I cannot stress this enough, not a work related benefit. It is to cover the extra costs being disabled brings. It's like saying my vaccum cleaner doesn't do the dishes, BECAUSE THAT'S NOT WHAT IT'S FOR
Britain's debate has become trapped in scapegoating. Immigrants. Disabled people. Young people. Pensioners. Public sector workers. Private sector workers. Everyone gets blamed except the structural problems that have been building for decades.
@ChrisE5212@SaulStaniforth@MSmithOrganiser I worked for the DWP for almost 10 years before my birth disability left me unable to work. PIP has been the most dehumanising, humiliating experience of my life. It's degrades me and filled me with shame beyond explanation. I wish non PIP claimants understood that.
@VirgilMSW@Shrink_at_Large As someone with CPTSD I've never experienced abandonment anxiety which is a significant aspect of BPD. I also rarely felt intense emotional dysregulation as I would just dissociate and go numb. I simply do not meet the BPD criteria but I do suffer with complex trauma.
We are seeing the repercussions of decimating the public realm, raising the retirement age, and selling lies to young people about educational and professional attainment.
If your analysis begins and ends at "kids on they damn phones", you are not a serious person.
