@BristolLive Why not restrict residents to Lead Acid batteries in mobility scooters, instead of Li-ion? I think most mobility scooters use Lead Acid batteries at the moment anyway. Lead Acid batteries must be safe enough, they're used in emergency lighting.
@bristol247 Would a cycling, scooting and walking tunnel between Temple Meads and the city centre not be a better option? Would make it more attractive to use the train then.
@BristolLive Love a good protest, but Clevedon is full of cars. It's the only bit of Clevedon not lined with parked cars (although there are a few spaces even here).
@LiamFox I went to the seafront recently. It's still a work in progress, but I think it is an improvement. The one issue is the lack of connecting cycle paths. If safety is the issue, it is 20 mph and I didn't see anyone zooming along. Also, it is a wide road for a one way system.
@CyclingInASkirt I hope they're okay. No turn signal or brake lights (until too late). Difficult to know how without more info I'd say. Could always be a medical issue. I suspect the Nissan Ramp might be a write-off too. It looks wonky.
@jonburkeUK Factors you could include in pricing: size of vehicle, noise produced, fuel/battery economy, power output. Small, clean, efficient cars with low power could be cheap perhaps? Therefore giving people on low incomes with a need for a car an affordable option? Or maybe exemptions?
@jonburkeUK I don't have a problem with LTNs, but it's proper cycle routes we need. Where I live, there are none. Public transport is also very poor. As a driver, I would be happy to see cycleways get some of the road space.
@Sustrans @Brakecharity I think there also needs to be more driver education. It should be safe for cyclists on the road, but drivers don't seem to have the skills to deal with cyclists properly. Poor observations and poor overtaking is too common.
@UseTheCycleLane Looks like it might be the mud kicked up by car tyres? Not sure if that is harmful or not, but it's not pleasant. If I sweep the garage out, I often sneeze dust particles up, so they can be breathed in. Either way that cycle lane needs a good wash!
@AdamBronkhorst The overtake on the cyclist is too close and not a suitable location, it's a bend. I think the use of the horn was aggressive. Then he nearly hits 2 pedestrians. Then he passed a third too fast and too close. 1.8m minimum between cars and people.
@Alex_Sashas @HarryHamishGray @Osprey0 I think asking for a random obstacle in the road to be fixed is fair enough. People miss things sometimes, particularly unlit grey objects on the ground.
@tonybrett @OxfordshireCC @AndrewGant3@RosalindRogers@cycloxoxford Where's the accountability? If a safer system is required, then implemented and then doesn't work as intended, then something has gone wrong. Someone should be checking the changes have worked and implementing a fix. Engineering doesn't stop after implementation.
@BristolLive Sounds good to me. There are few places to cross that road, so another crossing would be handy. Might be worth linking the cycle lanes up with other cycle ways.
@theirishmega@JDreamus@MacL0ve @sarsfieldsride If the indicator is on, then I think there is a technical issue with it. Most people can't see an indication in the video.
@theirishmega @sarsfieldsride I don't see an indication myself. First thing I see is the wheels turning, but that was probably around 1 second before turning. I don't see brake light either. Cyclist speed seemed sensible to me.
