Had a client paying U.S. tax on $800K/year through a C-Corp.
Moved him to a U.S. LLC owned by a Panama entity.
Added a Paraguay residency.
His new tax bill: zero.
His reaction: “Is this legal?”
Yes. That’s why I exist.
Had a client in Brazil taking about R$2 million a year out of an online business. He waited for the election.
The election changed nothing. Brazil taxes residents. He was one.
We moved the residency to Paraguay before the result, not after. Foreign income stays outside Brazilian tax. The company structure was the easy part. The exit paperwork was the part that took months.
If you are waiting to see how the new term goes, you are choosing to stay.
Lula won. 51.8 to 48.2.
If you have money in Brazil, your tax bill did not change this morning. Brazil taxes you because you still live there. The president is irrelevant.
Paraguay does not care who sits in Brasília. Earn the money outside Paraguay and Paraguay leaves it alone.
The Brazilians who moved their residency last year are having a normal Wednesday. The ones who waited for the result are starting from zero.
I've lived in Spain. I just spoke there.
It is the hardest country I know to get a simple thing done. A bank account. A tax number. A straight answer.
Prove me wrong. Which country is actually worse?
For wealthy Brazilians the three best options for reducing tax:
🇵🇾 Paraguay
🇵🇦 Panama
🇲🇹 Malta
But the overall structure is as important as the residency.
🇧🇷 Wealthy Brazilians are quietly mapping exits to Spain, Italy, Portugal, and Switzerland
Advisors say clients are locking in Spain’s two-year citizenship path, Italy’s flat tax and investor visa, and other European setups while Portugal is still on the cards.
Switzerland’s lump-sum option is also in the mix for some.
Political swings and tax uncertainty keep pushing money and people to look for Plan B outside the country.
Last night’s result just made those conversations a little more urgent.

They will tax the coin and spare the wrapper.
The Netherlands is fixing its wealth tax. Shares and bonds get the new system in 2028. Your Bitcoin, your gold, your foreign currency wait until 2030, taxed every year on gains you never sold.
Buy the same exposure as a product on an exchange and you get the better deal. Hold the coin yourself and you do not.
They are not taxing crypto. They are taxing the fact that you hold it in your own wallet.
This is what most people arguing over the Brazil election results miss.
If you are waiting for a politician to change your situational reality, your personal circumstances will never change.
Your Passport
Your Residency
Where you pay tax
Where you bank
Where you setup your business
These are always a choice.
Only YOU have the power to make real change.
I will go one step further…
DON’T move to LatAm unless you are making $5k a month.
Living like a local is not a life hack.
You can’t optimize for tax when you are making $2K per month.
🧵 Before you think about moving abroad, read this article...
Living on $1,500/month in paradise isn't the life hack you think it is.
You may be wasting your prime earning years chasing a cheap lifestyle, letting your work ethic atrophy, and setting yourself up to be broke at 40.
This is why you do not want to store your wealth in the same country where you live.
Diversification of assets and banks will continue to become more and more important as governments grant themselves ever increasing powers.
🚨 BREAKING: John Healey will announce at the Budget that HMRC will be given powers to seize money directly from the bank accounts of people who fail to pay their tax
Had a client in Germany who moved to Dubai and thought he was done.
Germany was not done with him. Leave and Germany can still tax you for up to 10 years on certain income if you keep a stake in a German company.
We unwound the stake before he left. Not after.
His reaction: "Nobody told me the clock starts on the way out."
Correct. The exit is the expensive part, not the arrival.
Had a client in the UK paying about 45% plus National Insurance on £400,000 a year from an online business.
He did not need a company. He needed to leave properly.
Statutory residence test. Ties cut. A new tax residency he could prove.
The structure took two weeks. The exit took six months.
His first question: "Why didn't my accountant do this?"
Because accountants file what you have. They do not redesign where you live.
Hate to say this but if you don’t have another option to pay for a $200 meal
Revolut is not the problem, you are.
Always have a backup bank account.
There is no exception to this rule.
thanks Revolut today for:
- making me look broke in a restaurant, since I couldn't pay for my $200 meal
- rejecting 3x billings from my Claude Max plan
- making me look stupid in front of my girlfriend, since I couldn't afford a bouquet of flowers
god, why residents of my counrty can't open any other Europe cards???
Asset protection and tax efficiency are two different jobs. A structure can do one perfectly and fail the other completely.
Tax is about what you pay. Protection is about what a court can reach.
A low tax company held in your personal name is efficient and fully exposed. One judgment and it is gone.
Ask both questions separately. Most people only ever ask the first.
France votes today on the budget that could bring in an exit tax on crypto.
The proposal: if you have lived in France for six of the last ten years and your household holds more than €800,000 in crypto, leaving the country triggers tax on gains you have not realised. Self-custody wallets included.
It is not law yet. Last year the Assembly threw out this part of the budget 404 to 1, and every change attached to it died with it.
But the direction is clear. The day to plan your exit is before the exit costs something.
If you are German and you move to a low tax country, Germany is not finished with you.
Under §2 of the Foreign Tax Act, a German citizen who was tax resident for at least five of the last ten years, moves somewhere low tax, and keeps significant economic interests in Germany, can stay taxable on German income for ten years after leaving.
Not your worldwide income. Your German income, at German rates.
The exit is not the flight. It is cutting the economic ties, and most people only find that out after they have left.
A Panama company is not tax free. It is territorial, and those are different things.
Panama only taxes income from Panamanian sources. Earn it from clients outside Panama and Panama does not tax it.
But the company is only as clean as where it is run from. Manage it from your kitchen in Madrid and Spain treats it as a Spanish company, taxed in Spain.
Panama sets the rate. Where the decisions get made decides whether you get it.
