It's nonsense and shameful to make this statement. The federal response has been fantastic, as confirmed by Republican governors. FEMA was onsite in states before the hurricane even made landfall.

You didn't lead Congress to provide $20 billion extra for FEMA. You failed to pass a 2025 budget, in which FEMA asked for an increased budget due to increasingly expensive disasters. Instead, all you accomplished was a continuing resolution that funded FEMA through December.

Maybe taking the month of August off was a mistake when the budget deadline was looming.
