OTd 1602, Dunboy Castle was stormed after a hard & cruel siege. Those that tried to swim to safety were shot. The remaining defenders took refuge in the Castle vault

We were honoured yesterday to be back in Newmarket,invited by the local Clan MacAuliffe.This is a story 423 yrs old & it still brings us together as a community.

We enjoyed a parade,music,tea, sandwiches,cake & most importantly wonderful conversations

O Sullivan Beare and his people walked through Ireland’s winter to teach a summer’s truth, that no cold is colder than ignoble surrender.

Never forget the Epic March of 1603
1,000 men, women & children began this death march through a frozen land, hunted daily by cruel craven enemy, haunting hunger and deadly disease. This was "Ireland's Trail of Tears". 35 reached the end, after 14 days
