Doing what I can to support artists, filmmakers, musicians, and writers

Where shall wisdom be found?

Cannot explain to the average human how sad and hilarious it's been to become an "anti-AI" person after over a decade working in machine learning research

These companies plan to take so much from us, right as we're making incredible strides in tech

It is completely sickening

Some software disappears simply because nobody thought to save it. Old games and programs can vanish even when they once made headlines, leaving only scattered disks and memories behind. 💾

Journalist Josh Renaud recounts the effort to recover obscure software and preserve it through the Internet Archive. 🖥️

📚 Renaud’s "Recovering Lost Software" appears in the pages of VANISHING CULTURE from the Internet Archive.

@JoyceCarolOates Since it's being debated, now is a good time to stand against it strongly and vocally, right?

I don't care if someone asked a computer to write like you, I want to read the thoughts of Joyce Carol Oates and contemplate them sincerely

@thomasknox @BackxEast You seem keen to announce the era of the AI novel. So, are you putting down your pen and letting the machine write for you?

If so, what is the purpose of reading your previous novels? If not, what is the purpose of this argument?

If labor is truly rendered superfluous, the assets you are hoarding will simply collapse alongside it. There are no individual exits from a systemic crisis.

" Art doesnt contribute to society "

Okay then dont watch a movie or show.

Or play a game.

Remove the decorations from your house.

Don'r read any Manga, comics or novels.

Or listen to a favorite musician.

Say, who designed your favorite pieces of clothing, huh?

Color on I Love Boosters is being talked about again. Clearly, our colorist is AMAZING.

BUT- the color you see is 90% from PRODUCTION DESIGN, COSTUME DESIGN, HAIR&MAKE UP, & CINEMATOGRAPHY-

Give em their due.
Proof- check the BTS shots:

Check out some good thoughts 🧠

I think this is something that was missing from the Emily Wilson/Nolan Odyssey discourse from the summer. When historians “well, actually” about pop culture, it partly comes from this humanist instinct to protect the dignity and autonomy of people from the past … 1/

They don't tell you how repairing your own broken stuff makes that stuff feel way more intimately yours than buying a replacement for the broken thing.

Maybe it's just a sign of our affluence and technological sophistication but the fact that so much brain power and money is being spent trying to 'solve' such meaningless problems as restaurant reservations is depressing. We used to send people to the moon.

I've been really getting deep into the music of Brazil and it's hard to overstate now many incredible bangers there are. If you can listen to this without dancing you aren't human to me: https://t.co/JBUzHrcAoA

I’m a human 3D artist. My Attack on Titan fan-made short film is a project I started in 2022 and released in June 2024. I redesigned all of the Titans myself. I didn’t use any AI, and I never made any money from this short film.

To be honest, I originally didn’t want to talk about this. In order to discuss it, I actually had to subscribe to X Premium.

Throughout 2025 and 2026, I started seeing more and more comments like this on my YouTube channel:

“Your one and a half years of work? I can make that with AI in 30 seconds.”
“I can do it in one minute.”
“I can do it in 90 seconds.”
So I started looking into it. The first AI short film I found was actually made by modifying footage from my original film, while being presented as an AI-generated work.
I felt pretty disappointed.

If you think AI can make something better than what I made, then please create something better from scratch.

I’ve always found it difficult to accept being mocked while my work is also being taken and reused.

Since 2018, I’ve been focused on creating the things I genuinely love. I’ve done it simply because I love creating, and I’ve never made a single cent from these works.

As a result, my financial situation has actually been quite difficult. For a while, I was really struggling with the thought that maybe I should have spent the past few years trying to make as much money as possible.

Was trying to make a living by creating the things I love just a foolish fantasy?

Then I watch Orb: On the Movements of the Earth. There’s one line in the series that really stayed with me:

“Being wrong doesn’t mean it was meaningless.”

So recently, I’ve slowly started to accept something.

If I don’t make the things I love, I don’t think I would be happy even if I had a job.

I’ll keep looking for a way forward. Whether that means working harder, finding ways to make money so I can continue making short films, or finding some other way, I still want to keep creating the things I love.

The homeless woman murdered in Central Park was a beloved artist and birdwatcher who made beautiful pieces dedicated to birds. She went by Lee Rogers, but also was known as Elise Bainbridge Hill. Her art was awesome. I hope her life story is shared and not just the grisly details
