18 UK women in education, volunteering on an @ActionAidUK community project in Mozambique 🇲🇿 in August ‘18 to build 2 new classrooms for a primary school.
1 Primary school = 450 pupils & 3 classrooms. Children attend school in shifts. 18 volunteers & fundraising = 2 new classrooms funded & kickstarted. We completed 3 months work in 1 week. Thanks supporters. #ChangeLivesForGood@ActionAidUK@actionaidmoz @KLMorgan_2 @TheHopefulHT
When we arrived in Mozambique there was a chalkboard under a mango tree. A week later we left the school having laid the foundations of two new classrooms with memories which will last a life time. Can’t wait to see the finished project & continue to support it @ActionAidUK
We started as individuals we finished as a team. Amazing enriching experience. Fantastic to have the chance to help and support a community to grow and develop. An epic journey for all!! #10%braver @TheHopefulHT @KLMorgan_2 @ActionAidUK
Leaving Mozambique and a wonderful school community after an incredible week with @ActionAidUK and an awesome, brilliant team. We built classrooms and friendships, whose impact I now need to reflect upon. Life changing stuff. @TheHopefulHT @KLMorgan_2 @Tasha_SENCO@anoara_a
I have just spent the week with most inspiring group of women and meeting other phenomenal women here in Mozambique. Together we will smash that glass ceiling! @TheHopefulHT @KLMorgan_2 #actionaiduk
Today I taught some of the school community to play noughts & crosses, simple I know & yet so rewarding. Walking away & seeing them continue to play, despite the language barrier & not having heard of it before, was awesome. Teaching is the best profession. Fact. @ActionAidUK
Last day of the build in Mozambique today- truly humbled at having the opportunity to take part in this amazing experience & by the kindness shown by everyone involved in the trip.
Farewell to new friends. See you soon. @actionaid#WomenEd@WomenEd@WomenEdLondon
Sometimes you experience things so amazing they change your perspective on life. Just spent a week building a school for these lovely people #actionaid
To all of you who: donated books, bought raffle tickets, donated on our Just Giving page and supported in a million other ways, this is what you've helped us to do.
The build begins...
It’s not to late to donate. Over the £4000 mark now. Less that £2000 to raise by Christmas & just 2 sleeps before I start the 24 hour journey to mozambique with a bunch of wonderful ladies 🇲🇿 thanks for the support #actionaid https://t.co/2pec1v00wp
Happy, proud & humbled. Our Mozambique family will stay in our hearts for always. Ladies, I’m in awe of every one of you and lucky to have laughed & learned with you. This is the end of the project but the start of something bigger. kanimambo!🇲🇿❤️ #leanonme@ActionAidUK
About 100 boys and girls participate in the Provincial Conference of the Girl - Maputo, to find solutions for #EarlyPregnancy, #PrematureMarriage and other problems that violate their the human rights.@actionaidmoz
Not only did we lay foundations for 2 classrooms in Mozambique (due to be completed in September) but we also built the #foundationsoffriendships.
Looking forward to continuing the legacy with all you lovelies! Obrigada, Kanimambo, Thank you! #WomenEd@naveyard @KLMorgan_2
.There are moments in your life that stay with you forever; there are trips that truly change you. Our trip to Mozambique has simply been soul enriching but we aren't stopping here. We still have much more to contribute to the community. Please do help us https://t.co/PGPG9ERHAI
Packing for our @ActionAidUK trip to Mozambique. It's the world's 3rd poorest country; 1 in 7 children die before their 5th bday so if we could hit £6k & blow our target out of the water then that would be amazing. https://t.co/PGPG9ERHAI
Diolch yn fawr iawn 🌟❤️
@TheHopefulHT @TheReadingGift @ActionAidUK @KLMorgan_2 @Tasha_SENCO@naveyard@anoara_a@RRaimato Just added our Birmingham Teacher Reading Group baffle donation. Have a safe and wonderful trip and I pray your work changes lives🙏🏾
All packed for our trip @ActionAidUK to Mozambique!
1 in 7 children die before their fifth birthday. Only 6 out of 10 children complete primary school and only 20% attend secondary.
Thank you for all your donations so far. Please continue donating at: https://t.co/dbpaHCahcz
