It is with tears in my eyes that I announce The Lady’s retirement from blogging. In a perfectly ironic move, I bounced a payment for site hosting and my site was wiped. And no they can’t recover it.
My daughter received a generous cash gift for the holidays. I asked her what she wanted to do with it. She said save it. So I invested it her custodial account and report the funds current value to her everyday. Turning $200 into $248 in 8 days?
@EmilyGuyBirken I ordered food (ie potato chips) and then made tiny potatoes for dinner. Yum. Also, calculated my net worth which is up from this time last year.
Ok @BudgetsAreSexy. I did it. I calculated my 2020 year-end net worth. Findings for year from hell: improved my net worth by $8k. Both assets and liabilities went up. Big moves=paid off car loan, value of investments tripled. Still a Lady in the Red, sadly.

@zerodayfinance I accidentally let mine lapse and I cried like I lost a loved one when I found out my site was gone. I miss writing in my own voice once in a while but, overall, when you’re done, you’re done. Good luck!
Anyone else have a Post-It note that reads “Do Budget” stuck on your mirror....for months...and another one that says “Pay Down Credit Card” but the dozen or so other little tasks have been completed and taken down? Just me?
@moneysavvydaddy This kicks me in the feels. After 12 years of home-cooked Thanksgiving meals (with admittedly varying levels of deliciousness) my daughter recently called it “KFC Holiday”. What?!? This year, she might be right about that!!!
