In the frontline city of Kharkiv, Ukraine, I just met with the renowned General Andrii Biletskyi, founder of the Azov Battalion and commander of the Third Army Corps in Ukriane @ab3army. Combat operations against Russia are ongoing just 30 kilometers from Kharkiv, and Russia attacks the city with ballistic missiles and drones almost daily.

It was very dangerous for me to travel to this city in Eastern Ukraine amid nonstop air raids, but I went there anyway to speak to the founder of Azov and ask him what every taxpayer in America wants to know:

Is it true or false that Azov Battalion and the Ukrainian Army are full of swastika waving Neo-Nazis? Are our tax dollars funding an army of Nazis to fight the Russians? I asked the General and Founder of Azov himself. No questions were off limits.

General Biletskyi gave me a tour of the city and showed me Rymarska Street, where Ukrainians fought their first armed battle against the Russians in 2014.

He answered all of my questions and walked me through the detailed history of Azov Battalion and the Third Army Corps. We also spoke about the future of modern warfare and how Ukraine’s fight is relevant to the USA and America’s long term national security.

There's a reckoning building in Russian grain that nobody is tracking. It got missed because Ukraine wasn't aiming at it.

The long range campaign in the Azov and Black Sea is about oil revenue. Grain logistics happened to be in the way, and the result is a sanctions regime on Russian exports that weren’t being directly targeted.

Insurance companies not countries are enforcing it. (God bless free market capitalism lol) Underwriters reprice costs associated with risks and the ship owners either ask for freight the trade Mr aren’t willing or can't pay or refuse the shipping, and capacity gets cut.

Many seem to be looking at this from the pricing point of view and waiting to see if Russia can discount its way out, but offers on wheat look to have so far settled out and firmed, so the pressure is going the other way now and back onto the farms and into elevator bids while FOB is holding. (Not a good situation)

Russia I don’t think can discount its way out of this fully, because ultimately it’s the underwriters who set the number that decides whether a ship decides to fill and sail. The only way round it is running grain through the dark fleet, which doesn't travel well from oil. Buyers want inspection, official documents and someone to finance the cargo, and the margins won't pay for the rest of it going the dark fleet route.
Storage is going to back up at the ports rather than nationally. You can’t just move cargo to the deepwater terminals because the rail won't be able to do it without congesting logistics.

If I was Ukraine, I’d double down and expand strikes at ports with the objective of getting the insurance underwriters to drastically increase costs due to risks associated with docking and loading at ru ports.

Unlike oil you can’t easily sit offshore or shift it through pipelines easier for when margins go back up
